Chronixal
To cut a long story short, I've had this current laptop for approximately 5-6 years now and it was hardly top-spec then and is really showing it's age now so I'm looking for a new one. After an admittedly brief look I'm decided between the following: http://bit.ly/gXTaK1 or http://bit.ly/dK9dZA Now granted I don't do a lot of PC gaming but that's mainly because I knew I couldn't run things well so this is a chance to try so that can be taken into account. Primarily, however, I need something that will have enough grunt to help me record and then edit HD videos effectively. Main thing I need clarification on is the CPU. I get the Acer has better dedicated graphics and HDD and is a quad-core but it seems a lot weaker than the Vaio's. Frankly, I know sweet FA when it comes to computer specs so any analysis and help is appreciated.
TheFlyingGerbil
I'd have thought the larger screen and higher resolution of the 17" Sony would be useful for editing video. Would you be interested in Dell? 15" 17" but that's a bit more expensive. The 17" Dell one is the one I'm thinking of getting if anyone has any opinions on it If you sign up for their newsletter you often get a code for 10% off. Currently their is one for £70 off.
