Should it be the "One Ring" then none of the higher powers can be entrusted with it, including gandalf himself (as he explains he'd probably be even worse than Sauron, even if he used it to do good). Given Frodo was instructed to not use it his immunity as a hobbit doesn't really matter. Reveal hidden contents Yeah I just mentioned the fact Sauron was gathering them, and that Gandalf hooked up with the last dwarven ring-bearer in Saurons captivity. Therefore he knew exactly where the last of the dwarven rings was. And yes it could have been one of the prototype rings, but it'd still be related to The One Ring. A magical ring is worth his time, even academically, checking out. Especially as he says "there are many magic rings, none of which are to be taken lightly". I haven't been keeping up with the news, so I was a bit disappointed when I found out it wasn't going to be one movie, but I guess that's to be expected given the length. I enjoyed it. A breakdown of the contract in The Hobbit. Also turns out there's a clauses added in the new contract which runs foul of a major plot point for the end of the film. From what I can gather it's very much a movie contract in the same way Swordfish has hacker in it, but a much better effort than "a lesser studio artist" may have put forward.
