Cyber Rat
What actually bothers me more is how most game journos and sites are attacking Sony nonstop and saying they're incompetent or stupid but at the same time aren't condemning those people that actually started this whole mess. I mean if they did this to the PSN, what's stopping them from going after Xbox or Nintendo next. It's because people think that you giving money to a company or person means you own itthem, rather than being a customer. And it's easier to blame something with a face than a mysterious non-entity like "hackers". Sony does have a responsibility towards their customers, free or paying, but any system can be hacked if the attackers are determined. No exceptions. TheMightyEthan
One of the major reasons I think is because of money. That's the problem with all commercial media.
deanb
I actually heard that there was an attack on XBL when all this PSN shit was brewing. Not sure if it was real or whatever. People were using MW2 for phishing attempts n blackmail. i.e resetting other players stats then saying "gimme $15 to put it back"

TheMightyEthan
Crap, I hope they didn't get our Station passwords. Mine's still different than my other passwords, but it's based on the same password schema and similar enough that I would want to change my other ones again. Dean, what's that password manager you use, that will generate random passwords for you and stuff?
deanb
https://lastpass.com/ It has extensions for all browsers, a PC client and apps for iPhone n Android. There's a few sites where it's iffy, and the PXOD gdocs stuff is a bit funky.

SanaEquiesterer
...maybe? Sorry, I'm only looking at the features in more detail now (quick glance, little sleep, etc.). I might be thinking of another program.

RockyRan
Concerning the Sony thing, some game writers are really going a bit overboard with it. I mean take Jim Sterling for instance. I know a lot of people don't like him. I personally am ok with him, but he really does seem like he has a vendetta against Sony for the way he's been "reporting" the PSN "facts." Personally I think Jim Sterling is by far the worst gaming "journalist" in the entire industry. The fact that he's jumping on the bandwagon isn't surprising to me in the least bit. RockyRan
Internal testing in its "final stages": http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/05/sony-psn-rebuild-complete-internal-testing-in-final-stages/ Oh, and free identity theft protection for a year: http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/05/sony-to-offer-psn-users-free-identity-theft-protection-for-one-y/ And I gotta love the people still bitching. At this point they're just bitching about whatever comes first to their mind. Needless to say, if people are still bitching about how Sony's handling the situation they seriously need their heads crowbar'd out of their ass.
Thursday Next
They're pretty much doing whatever they can to fix it. I know a couple of people have expressed a degree of reticence over returning to PSN, but I have no such qualms. People will bitch eternally though, Sony could offer to refund any fraudulent transactions for the rest of time and people would still bitch about it. RockyRan
http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/06/psn-reactivation-delayed-for-further-testing-not-coming-back/ Reactivation delayed. Now to a "when it's done" timeframe I'd rage, but eh. Rebuilding an entire gaming network isn't exactly patching a game. Plus, this is happening right in the middle of everyone's finals. Probably the best possible time for this kind of thing to happen TBH.
staySICK
NO. NO. NO. It's not. Hot Heart
I remember last year when I got RDR during my stay somewhere without internet access. Total waste of money buying the limited edition because 1. I probably won't ever replay the game and 2. I didn't enjoy it that much in the first place. If I'm getting LA Noire I'd probably get it on 360 anyway though. Edited May 7, 2011 by Hot Heart
TheMightyEthan
I didn't enjoy [RDR] that much in the first place. BLASPHEMY! RDR is seriously one of my favorite games of all time. I wish they would make more singleplayer expansions. There is almost nothing I would change about that game.
CorgiShinobi
What's killing me is not being able to play with the surge of friends picking up Portal 2 now. Sure I've completed everything, sans trophies, but I still want to be there for their experience. Well, that, and some of them are all, "Sony is teh suxours!" I want to be all, "Steamworks cross-platform co-op, mothalicka!" B)
Kovach_
http://blog.eu.plays...ction-offering/ So, 2 free games for the PS3, +2 if you have a PSP. Thank you Sony. Edited May 7, 2011 by Kovach_
CorgiShinobi
SCEA, I rather have that offer than a free year of AllClearID. Heck, take back the free PlayStation Plus month too!
