RockyRan
Are they talking PSN games, or retail PS3 games? Because it'd be totally sweet if it was the latter.

Of course, we're talking about selecting two out of a preselected five, so the retail PS3 games could be a selection of Greatest Hits rather than any recent title (no matter their current respective discount at retail). Strangelove
I hate to be such a downer, but if they see giving psplus as a good gift, I doubt they would buy everyone 2 actual physical games. I'm sure they're psn games. It just makes more sense economicably.
deanb
They sell whole PS3 games on PS Store. So it can be PS3 titles.
Strangelove
Yup. Not physical.
「Advent Chaos」
I have a strong intuition that one of those titles will have to be inFAMOUS. I bet ₮50 points that it will be there!
Strangelove
Im also sure the free downloads will be available for a limited time and wont stay in your download list. They did that with Flow and that stupid awful ragdoll kungfu.
Kovach_
Yeah, i'm pretty sure they won't be physical copies. Then again, i'm also inclined to think they'll be PSN games, not "full" games. Whatever the case, i'm not complaining for free games.

「Advent Chaos」
I really liked the demo, probably because I don't play the genre that much so I guess it felt refreshing for me. Other than that, the powers and the rail grinding were probably more fun to me than it should have. The cutscenes with the actual character models did bother me a bit

Aren't in-engine cutscenes basically the standard now?
deanb
As opposed to the comic book cutscenes most of it used. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8bj4AUly4I

Hot Heart
Yeah, they'd most likely be Sony-published stuff. LittleBigPlanet, inFamous, Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid?
CorgiShinobi
Yeah the retail PS3 titles on PSN would probably be better than a Greatest Hits "mass mailing list" scheme. There's definitely more than five PS3 titles on PSN, so we could be choosing from inFAMOUS, Mass Effect 2, God of War (I & II), Assassin's Creed II, and etc.
Mercurial
MGS4 would have to be on a disc cause it's fucking massive. Otherwise I highly doubt they mean retail games. Edited May 8, 2011 by Hakidia
deanb
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_downloadable_PlayStation_3_games#PlayStation_3_games They do have a decent selection. I'd say from that list, given it'll most likely be 1st/2nd party: MAG, MNR, InFamous, WipEout HD, LBP, Warhawk, GT5 Prologue. Warhawk, InFamous, GT5 n LBP make the most sense for them since they have sequels out or coming, so it's like a massive demo. It does help sell the idea to share holders more if you frame it that way.
RockyRan
Question: In case SCEA pulls a dick move and gives a far worse compensation, do you reckon US folks would be able to use an EU-based PSN account to reap the goodies? I have a Ye Olde British Account from a couple years ago.
Kovach_
Probably. I could download some US only promo stuff before.
Hot Heart
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-05-09-sony-psn-restoration-targets-end-of-may Yikes.
SomTervo
Kinda sucks for some of us. I bought PlaystationPlus not weeks before this whole thing happened, and I already have almost all of the titles I'd be interesting in having from their service. So after purchasing a whole year, and all the games I want, I get one measly month and maybe a couple of extra titles I don't need... deanb
That is for full restoration mind. Even the date they gave for it to be up by the other day was for "partial restoration of services" or whatever. So basic functions could start popping up. Strangelove
Im sure im saving tons of money by not having the store available. Thats really the only thing i miss about psn. I hardly ever play multiplayer and trophies i dont care much for either.
