deanb
I've thrown up a TF2 trading section, and a post up, on the Classifieds section if anyone is interested.
-Dex-
I like the Portal Sentry "toy" <3 I would place it next to my PC and program that bitch to say "Are you STILL there?" every hour or so.
Pirandello
I suck at Spy. I don't know how people do well at them. But I rock as anything else, but I am godlike at Medic. Any Heavy that has me as Medic will be guaranteed 3 ubers in one lifespan, unless they do something stupid like run into enemy turrets while I'm charging my uber. -Dex-
I suck at Spy. I don't know how people do well at them. Spy takes simplicity and complicates it. The basic strategy is "Get behind them, stab, get out" but the complexity about it is trying not to get spychecked by pyros and trying to maintain your disguise as long as you could. If you suck as spy, you can always just stand around waiting for a heavy-medic team or some snipers. I used to be excellent with spy until I crafted "Your Eternal Reward". That thing just spoiled me and made me rush in. Since then, I lost the patience and was only getting worse.

People on the opposite team can also seem to tell if I'm the spy, which is really annoying. Unusually enough, every time the engineer figures out who I am, a friendly Demoman always saves my ass. So I play Demoman in place of Spy nowadays. It's surprising at the amount of people who rage because I know how to hookshot my grenade by bouncing them off walls. -Dex-
^ I play as demo only when I'm on defense. Stickies and wallbouncing granades always save my ass. But I think my specialty is Sniper. I once got 84 points with a demo in a single round. I knew I couldn't top that ever again so I deleted my stats and started over. I have the screenshot thou. Mr W Phallus
Thing I hate about playing Spy is I always seem to bump into enemies at choke points, giving myself away.

But I think my specialty is Sniper. Sniper itself isn't bad. I'm just not good with it because everyone moves around too fast for my liking. However, Demoman isn't that bad for offense, either. Not so much on CP maps, but they do pretty well on Payload, especially around corners, and if enemy Engineers have turrets set up.
LaunchOctopus
I've actually just got back into spy, it's true the eternal reward really messes with your tactics, I stick only with the standard knife now its much better, could do with practicing the dead ringer though Demoman offense can be really useful on some maps for suppressing any pushes(especially ubers) and generally forcing the other team back. Mr W Phallus
Wow, that looks great. From a practical stand-point it looks a bit dark and theres a lot of visual noise but still...so shiny.

To add to this, Spy and Engineer are the only two classes in which your job gets progressively more difficult to perform as the other team improves in skill. Bad team = easy job for spies/engis, good team = hard job.
deanb
If it's not already on when I wake up give it a day before that video is on Kotaku. (With some "made by kotaku reader blah blah" stuff in too) Good stuff, but I assume it's something changed user side for the skins, the map is server side? Pirandello
Good stuff, but I assume it's something changed user side for the skins, the map is server side? From what it indicated in the video, only the skins/weapon skins/weapon effects were changed. The map is most likely indeed server-side. Tiller
Chrno what do you need AC update wise? I got a few spares and I'll help you out with a trade or two. I'm going to craft them anyway in a bit.
Pirandello
I just played with and against a Demoman that had the Chargin' Targe coupled with the Half-Zatoichi. Nasty, nasty stuff.
arbitarty
I just played with and against a Demoman that had the Chargin' Targe coupled with the Half-Zatoichi. Nasty, nasty stuff. Yeh, deadly combination. If you get the Half-Zatoichi swinging sideways, its gib fest. The Gunbai fan for scout is interesting, enemies get marked for death and take mini-crits. Nasty for whizzing by a heavy entering your base, tagging them and continuing on to the enemy site, meanwhile the heavy is being cut up by a sentry. Harri
After 111 hours of playing TF2 since June 2010, I have finally crafted my very own hat. It was... a grenadier's softcap. SUCCESS! At least I didn't get a hatless or something.
deanb
The game just updated. I hear it's got things related to the Potato Sack ARG. http://store.steampo....com/news/5227/ edit: yep. Potato. http://steamcommunity.com/id/gentIemen/screenshot/560905110038744582
deanb
http://store.steampowered.com/news/5305/ Holy crap that's an update and a half. As far as things look this isn't Potato related/Portal 2 ARG. Just a crap ton of the stuff that has been in testing on Beta TF2 is now in the full blown TF2. Lot of server changes, weapon tweaks and updates to the tutorial mode.

Pirandello
Training for Spy? I suppose that'll help me some. Also, coaching system is good, too.
