lol "its been a slow news day" fucking brilliant.

And Ethan: I'm getting that there's more to the used game deal. But man. After rereading their words all I can expect is that the fee won't be $10. It'll probably be something like half the new price or $20. Reselling discs seems to have transformed into "do I want to use my internet to download the game and waste GB's, or buy the disc and a faster install?"

A) From what we already know whatever is there won't be as extensive and will be optional

B) What do you want to hear about that? Just when it's going to start running? I think this is more of a we need to see if it actually works sort of thing.

C) I think this would just push me on waiting out longer (I do game on PC) while I await any good single player exclusives. I actually rented Uncharted 3 so I've already dealt with that same situation. While it would have been nice to get a few rounds and play a bit on the last day I had it I ultimately had rented it for the single player to begin with.

Well it's now confirmed that it's basically like a steam account on a closed platform that works on one OS (three if you want to be anal since Xbox One has 3 OSes). If you want your friends to be able to play the games you have you need to be signed into your account. Otherwise pay the fee. I wonder why their support went rogue for a while.

Third console curse. Yeah it's real.

I just got in from work and didn't get to see the presentation; seems like every article is detailing specific features when all I want are the Cliff Notes.

Can somebody clear up two things for me?

- There are mandatory installs on every game, right? Is the 500GB model the only model and will that be enough?

- One of the bullet points in the Reddit thread reads "Due to its cloud computing capabilities, the XBOX One can become more powerful over time." That's quite vague and I'm not sure I buy it. Anyone know the details behind this claim?

To be honest I can't say I'm surprised that a lot of what they've unveiled so far hasn't been especially oriented towards gamers. I mean, even today it's not uncommon for a household television set to have a half dozen electronic boxes attached to it, each with their own individual remotes and connections. Meanwhile everything we used to carry in our pockets has been condensed into a single smartphone. Wouldn't surprise me if in a few generations they stopped releasing consoles altogether and started releasing TV's that support games.

No but it sounds a bit like what EA/Maxis claimed for SimCity. Calling bullshit until they show it completely.

MS stated recently that the 500 GB version was internal. You can't switch to a bigger/lower drive. But that external hard drives are available to use if you want to add more. tl;dr I see you riding down town wanting one of my xbox juans and I'm like FUCK YOOOOOU

As to the cloud comment, unless they mean game streaming no clue

Sony's stock rose 10% today. Ouch.

(If you're curious, Microsofts went down slightly but not by a significant amount).

Oh, and about the 'more powerful over time' comment; would anybody even have a source more reliable then Reddit; or know if they actually said something along those lines during the presentation? The only way I can see them even remotely accomplishing this is if they're talking about driver updates.

1) As far as I know yes mandatory installs. This, along with DRM/how activations work, etc, really need to get cleared up officially. All of the details. And 500gb? Well I'm guessing games will be between 25-50gb each so you won't have all of your games installed at once.

2) What is there to buy? It has cloud computing capabilities. They can offload things to a server somewhere instead of doing it on the home console. Both the PS4 and the One will be able to do it. It's very plausible that after a few years we will see "Works better with constant internet connection" or even making that mandatory. However, we don't appear to be there yet in practice.

Well, it's confirmed that all the tv channels come from your cable box and not from the Xbox One itself.  For a device so glorified by Microsoft as a unified entertainment device, can someone please tell me what the fuck it even does besides act as a voice controlled tv remote?

Not to mention that the console needs to be connected at least once every 24 hours, even if only playing single player games.

Also can I propose we change the thread's name to "Xbox Juan"?

Where did you read this?

Harrison spoke of a scenario apparently, that's their way of saying "shit shit wait wait, we can change I swear!"
