TheFlyingGerbil
it also means all the people outside the 21 countries supported at launch are effed up the a. That includes a lot of EU countries and Japan.
Mister Jack
The Xbox One seems not to have a physical power button on it. When asked about it on twitter, Xbox Support just said that you turn it on by talking to your kinect.
TheMightyEthan
If that's literally the only way to turn it on I just... I don't even... Even Halo might not be enough to get me to buy this.
Faiblesse Des Sens
This was one of the things people freaked out ago after the press conference a month ago and people saw the hardware. You guys are late on the hate train.
Mister Jack
I thought the little logo on the front WAS the power button, or that it was at least a touch-sensitive spot to turn it on like on the 360 slim.
NeoStarr
The power button is back in. I was reading about that earlier and some X-Box guy tweeted that there will be a power button, but I can't remember who it was that tweeted that. Also; it seems Nintendo is kind of taking shots at Microsoft in their own ultra polite Nintendo kind of way... http://www.polygon.com/2013/6/13/4426338/nintendo-if-youre-worried-about-used-game-sales-make-better-games
Faiblesse Des Sens
They specifically call out devs and not Microsoft. This isn't just a XB1 issue.
Waldorf and Statler
I keep my Nintendo games for that specific reason. Even a game as fantastic in story and single player as Fire Emblem I would never trade because I know I'll want to play it again in some future. Is this the reason why Nintendo games never go down in price? lol
NeoStarr
I believe they don't go down in price because they sell consistently. You don't have big first week sales on Nintendo games, but it'll sell just as well a year later as it did when it came out. I think it was Mario Kart DS or something like that that was in the top 10 in sales for almost a year but never actually hit first place. They specifically call out devs and not Microsoft. This isn't just a XB1 issue. Nintendo isn't one to name names or start shit, but if your company is talking used games sales right now you are most definitely referencing Microsoft's folly; whether that be directly or indirectly. They could have stopped the article at "Nintendo games don't get traded in as much", but it becomes "Nintendo games don't get traded in because they're better". Faiblesse Des Sens
The question is, do we trust support? I assume these are some low level guys who are looking at a fact sheet. Yes, I'm that skeptical.

WTF
Unless I'm mistaken Xbox and Apple support are both in Ireland. Though MS does have support centres in the subcontinent. However all that said, they're unsure of what to do. You see their DRM is system-wide as in it's built into the system. Even their disclaimers suggest that publishers can opt out. You've built a system that actively negates sharing. It's not an opt-in, there's never any wording that suggests that. Systems and services are decided on long before a console is out. They'd been so forward thinking in their draconian measures that they never expected a backlash. If you read recent interviews, the stuff they've been saying is hilarious. Hence my earlier comments of 'stop talking'. There's a recent interview where they've said their data says people will ignore everything and buy stuff. The protests are a vocal minority. They believe this and honestly can you blame them? Let's see we increased the fee of Xbox live by $10 - that okay? Sure np. Keep more things behind a paywall. Sure. Honestly their data suggested that whatever they did people wouldn't care so they didn't expect anyone to care. This sort of living room dominance was their plan when they launched. They just accelerated it. Oh and the disclaimer suggests that their OS takes 'significant' amount of the 500GB. Note: Significant aka it's probably going to take about a tenth at the very least. Remember the backlash when surface pro was out? Of the 128GB only 83GB was available. It's a 128GB SSD it should've had about closer to 100 gigs. This is a 500GB HDD so let's remove the usual 20ish gigs that go and then the OS. I'm expecting that usable HDD space might be about 400Gigs which isn't a lot with mandatory installs. Mind you, a lot of insiders suggest the console has yield issues. If that's the case and it's not resolved, be prepared for RROD pt2. Forget downclock rumours and everything. Yield issues are a greater problem considering it's to launch in 5 months.
Thursday Next
It's also short on memory due to running the OS, side apps and it has to have enough memory left over to put the console in standby within one second. Depending on what else the console is doing you can have as little as 30% memory to work with. Also, total BS that they claim you have to check in every 24 hours because The Power of the Cloud. If the Xbone needed the cloud to operate checking in once a day wouldn't do shit.
Mister Jack
I'm just amazed this thing even made it out of the planning stages. I mean, nobody stopped to think about how online drm, mandatory installs, and a camera you have to keep plugged in for the console to work might be a bad idea? Nobody ever looked at the notes and said "What the fuck are we doing? People are going to hate this." It didn't occur to them for so long that they actually made it all the way to E3 with this piece of crap? It defies logic how any company could possibly be so completely out of touch with its consumer base. Also, fuck the "power of the cloud." It's the biggest piece of gaming PR bullshit since sega's blast processing. Edited June 14, 2013 by Mister Jack

WTF
The cloud is a company wide initiative. You don't even need to make images, just check out MS corporate and you'll see ridiculous branding for the cloud. MS believes in the cloud as a company-wide strategy to charge for more premium services. Azure is okay and all but come on. Honestly most of the people in charge of the previous iterations of the console aren't there anymore. The Bone sorry Xbone is and always was a corporate machine. If this tanks, it'll be zuned No question about that. There will be a relaunch but I bet around that time both Nintendo and Sony will be able to charge less so this generation is going to be hard on them. Vecha is right, this whole cloud business is a company-wide thing. They do sound brainwashed to some extent but they believe in the 'clowds'.
Mister Jack
And yet they still fail to realize that it's at least 10 years too early for them to be putting all their eggs in that basket.
