Okay, this is pretty badass:  takes it 13 seconds to go from you saying "Xbox on" to being at a usable dashboard.

The voice commands don't interest me, but the fact that it boots so fast is nice.

*Edit* - Though that's from standby, not a full cold boot.

Microsoft has detailed the Game DVR functionality available at launch.

You can tell it to save either the previous 30 seconds of gameplay or the next 5 minutes.  In that respect it's not as good as PS4's system, which works more like a TV DVR and is always saving the last 15 minutes, so you can go back and pick out anything in that time frame.

Once you create and edit the video (appears to be just simple start and end point selection, just like PS4) it gets uploaded to SkyDrive as a 720p mp4 files, which means it's accessible from PC and can be uploaded anywhere you want (or edited with more robust editing software).  In that respect it's better than PS4's system, which atm can only upload to Facebook.

You can't copy the PS4's video files onto a memory stick?

edit: Reviews are popping out along with extra info. Turns out it has no indication of storage capacity and what's used up by what, and to top that off you don't need to worry about the non-user upgradable 500GB cos if you run short on space Xbox One will handily start deleting the oldest files for you to free up room.

Nope. Not atm, anyway.

Why in the fuck would they not put in storage management or an upgradable hard drive when next gen games are already approaching 50 GB at launch.

No upgradable HDD is because they want to be able to sell you a proprietary one for 4x the normal cost.

I have no idea why there's no storage management, even the fucking original Xbox had that.

I'm joking... I think. Ethan's answer is the correct one, but I'm sure someone out there would have given this answer with a straight face.

Well on the PS4 file copying thing that kinda sucks, you could copy your files off the PS3.

As for storage, it won't be proprietary, but just like their USB flash drive expansion you're surefire going to see a bog standard external harddrive branded to be an official Xbox One solution, a nice bit of cash flow from licensing on the side.

While I'm at it, it's a farce that the controller isn't using an internal battery and that the headset port is still proprietary. I mean come on, it's 2013. For the most part the controller didn't need much fixing but they completely ignored two of its biggest issues. I'm sure they want to sell us a headset and battery pack though. What, forcing the fucking kinect on everybody wasn't enough?

I really like that controller. Though it's funny that somehow Sony made a sleeker and more "adult" looking system than the MS did this time around. The One and its controller and its camera look way more like a toy than the PS4 and it's accessories. It doesnt matter and it shouldnt matter, but it's weird. MS has always tried really hard to distinguish themselves from the old game industry. Shit, it's called "X" Box for god's sake.
