Well like people were saying earlier EA's given itself such a bad rep recently with bullshit bans that now people are willing to believe just about anything is possible from them. Trolls are going to capitalize on that, cause that's just what trolls do.

They want 18-24months. To add "social layers". Also note on how Steam was rocky start, with folks acknowledge. Problem is this isn't their start :P (First article I've seen that notes Origin is re-branded EADM/EA Store)

First comment:

Nice to have a proper competitor to Steam.

I will say, their marketing of Origin sure is pretty good. Rare is the marketing that re-writes history in peoples minds.

Origin 8.5 update incoming. Introducing such exctiing features as custom avatars, cloud saving, and the ability to hide outdated beta/alpha games from your library. (And a couple minor UI tweaks)

edit: The minor UI tweaks are so that the rows in the library are a bit thicker. I guess this is to make it seem a bit more full? I am still really effing confused on why expired beta/trials stay in your library, the "hide" is but a work around to something that seems like a fundamental flaw in how Origin is made. It's not a program breaking issue, at the moment, but just the fact they're unable to have things expire and leave your library would imply there's something missing in how it should be dealing with downloads.

What I actually came in here to post:

Origin%20Sale%20-%20E-mail%20ad.png

Origin%20Sale%20-%20Chat%20Full.png

Never have I encountered a store that actually refused to honor its own ad, even when that ad was mistaken.

*Edit* - I do see the big asterisk on the 50%, but notice the box art for KoA, and the text at the bottom does not mention KoA as one of the exclusions (even the part that got cut off in the screenshot). Also, I had to take two screenshots to get the whole chat so I spliced them together.

Yeah, the email has a link that says "Not displaying blah blah blah" that should be an html link to the email without your details on it (check first though :)).

EDIT: Cheers

Judging by the sentence structure (or lack thereof) Royal is an outsourced name.

No, at this point I'm just pissed at the treatment from customer service. If they'd just said "we're sorry, there was a mistake in the ad" I would have been disappointed but not angry, but instead they apologized for me misunderstanding, gave me justifications for why it was there and wasn't misleading (tip: if I have to go to another site to read the fine print to find out that the game you advertised with the sale is not part of the sale, then your ad is misleading) and then did childish stuff like unfollowing me so they could get in the last word. It's not like I was being rude to them, I was just calmly discussing it with them.

lol, and now I got myself back into it. But no, thanks for the thought, but I'm not sure if I would buy it now even if I could get the 50% off.
