I think I commented waaaaay back about how it was nice that an American show actually paid enough attention to have the northern characters played by northern actors or with northern accents.

Why are they crippling the userbase like that?  I'd sign up for it, but have no iOS devices.  Why can't I just sign up on the damn website?  It's especially ridiculous considering once I did use an iOS device to sign up I would be able to watch it on my PC from the website.

HBO doesn't wanna piss off the cable and dish companies too much. They care about piracy, but they also fully realize that they're walking away from millions of dollars by not offering standalone web HBO Go subscriptions accessible via their website. My guess is that their agreements with cable and dish companies prevent them from offering a standalone service that isn't chained to another company's content-providing service, since that's how HBO is already distributed.

 

The cable companies are dinosaurs and we are watching them die off slowly, to be sure. Having HBO Go available on Apple TV is bad enough, from their perspective. HBO or Showtime offering a standalone service that does well financially will be the harbinger of the end of cable companies as we know them.

Fight with the unsullied and Barristan was annoyinnnnnnng. The unsullied are supposed to be the baddest, most deadly soldiers in the world, and Barristan the greatest swordsman of his time, yet they got absolutely torn apart in a relatively even match.

From what I understand, the Sons of the Harpy aren't even an elite group of fighters, they're just some thugs that fight for the masters.

I thought they were way outnumbered?  It certainly seemed like they killed more than their fair share.  When Barristan came in only Grey Worm was left, and they each still had like 5-6 guys to take care of.

The Unsullied fight in formation in war and not when surrounded. seemed like they were outnumbered 2 to one and gave better than they got. I also think the Sons of the Harpy in the show likely includes arena fighters who could give the Unsullied a run for their money one-on-one.
