Hot Heart
Now that was a good episode. A nice mixture of agonising, machinations and revelations. The Nightwatch stuff. Holy shit! I saw the Daenerys thing coming but, damn, that was really well executed. Some lovely cinematography and music, boosted by a really strong performance from Emilia Clarke. I think she's done a great job with the character's journey and you can really hear how her 'commanding' voice has become strong where before it was (deliberately) weaker. TCP
Somewhat vague book spoilers: Yeah, it's too bad this is her peak and the next 3+ seasons will be her fucking wasting time in Essos.
P4: Gritty Reboot
Cowboy, they will probably skip over or streamline much of that. Next season will finish out ASOS (still exciting stuff), then season 5 will begin the ADWD material (since it's concurrent with AFFC), which was actually pretty eventful for the most part. So really they just need to spice up season 4 and the begnning of season 5's storyline a bit somehow.
Mister Jack
Man, what are they going to do when the series inevitably catches up with the books?
deanb
Game of Thrones and then Game of Thrones: Brotherhood?
Waldorf and Statler
All I care about is that the freaking snowy cliffhanger of book 5 is resolved or I'm gonna go apeshit. I don't care who does it. Also more Jon Snow, less Sansa. She doesn't get good until AFFC. At least imho.
Waldorf and Statler
Also never said it but I liked this episode. What's her face, the old tyrell, man what great freaking casting. She steals every scene she's in.
Hot Heart
Dame Diana Rigg. Yeah, I said it before but she is real good. Having her and Varys in scenes is great. Edited April 23, 2013 by Hot Heart
P4: Gritty Reboot
Some amazing scenes in that episode: The Old Bear & the Watch's rebellion Theon's regret and recapture--wow. Marg & Joff at the Sept Varys and the sorcerer The Hound & Beric And of course, Dany and her Unsullied. Book readers may note that Tywin was writing and sealing a letter of some kind while talking to Cersei... Just a really well done episode. Waldorf and Statler
now that you mention that letter... Are you implying that's an approval for the Freys' plan?
P4: Gritty Reboot
Yes, the camera work that focuses on his writing suggests it's a letter to the Freys or Boltons organizing the Red Wedding.
Hot Heart
Don't forget the dialogue hints as well.
Waldorf and Statler
You mean the whole discussion about starting a war when Tyrion got taken and that what do you think he'd do for Jaime? Good point. I hope they go over later on how They are basically disgusted by what the Boltons and Freys did and know that if they were to reclaim peace that they'd have to get rid of them as a matter of honor/gain respect of the other houses. Hot Heart
Oh, I meant the little discussion... ...regarding Joffrey. Though, I must admit I haven't read ahead or anything; just trying to guess where things might be going. So I could be wrong.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Oh, I meant the little discussion... ...regarding Joffrey. Though, I must admit I haven't read ahead or anything; just trying to guess where things might be going. So I could be wrong. I would advise that you stay away from spoiler tags now that the season is up and going and things are starting to happen. A bunch of us know what is coming whether it's Westeros events or beyond and you don't want to be spoiled. Trust me. If anyone doesn't mark their spoilers properly then the show will become a bit less fun for you.
Waldorf and Statler
I don't know why I forgot about some people here. I'll make sure to mention "for book owners only" from now on. also "for british eyes only"
TCP
So where will season 3 end? The Red Wedding will obviously be in season 3, but episode 9's are often "shockers" (Ned's head), and I vaguely recall Joffrey's wedding not being too far after that. If Joffrey's wedding was episode 10, then Tyrion killing his Tywin and leaving for Essos could be the end of season 4. Or they could just have Joffrey's wedding in the middle of season 4 but seeing Joff die could be a good way to end things off after watching the Starks get brutally murdered. Who knows. Waldorf and Statler
Can we agree as a whole to have current episode discussions as non-spoilers and book stuff as spoilers? That might be easier to avoid people reading book stuff. And yeah Cowboy, episode 9's tend to be shockers. So whatever big thing they decide will be there with 10 being the aftermath

That might be easier to avoid people reading book stuff. And yeah Cowboy, episode 9's tend to be shockers. So whatever big thing they decide will be there with 10 being the aftermath I went ahead and edited the title to indicate the thread will have current episode spoilers. Book spoilers should still be marked. Spoilers through A Storm of Swords: As for the end of the season, the final episode is called Mhysa, which means mother, so I think it will end with the liberation of Yunkai or Mereen--Mereen most likely. As episode 9 is going to be absolutely crushing, I think 10 will try to give viewers a bit of hope for what's to come. I am currently doubting that they'll do the purple wedding, though I hope they do, as it will balance with the red wedding so well (and they're setting up for it with all the machinations in King's Landing). Possibly they'll foreshadow the purple wedding and Lady Stoneheart.
TCP
So if I can talk about Dany getting the Unsullied without spoiler tags? But if I'm talking about A Storm of Sword I have to spoiler like so?: Yeah the balance is what I'm talking about! I think it'd work well, anything that's too crushing can be discouraging to viewers. But if the episode title is Mhysa, it might be more Dany-centric. P4: Gritty Reboot
Yeah if you're talking about ASOS beyond the most recently aired episode or AFFC/ADWD/TWOW and beyond material, spoiler tag.
Mister Jack
So was there a reason for Theon to be freed, led around the middle of nowhere for a while, then brought right back to the torture chamber? I mean, it's funny, but what's the practical reason for it?
TCP
That guy released him and got the confession out of him that Bran/Rickon are still alive. Now the Boltons know. This could be important.
