Mal
"I can be your family..." Oh Arry. ;_; How I wish happiness upon her but we're dealing with GRRM here... I'm really liking this season for expanding on the character a bit. Sure we sort of knew how each character felt but to see it in a show makes it so much better. Another example is Jamie's part. I knew the Mad King was mad but I don't recall him ever ordering a pyromancer to burn King's Landing to the ground. Also the details of how he did it. Waldorf and Statler
In truth, they might be leading up to a more likable Jaime in the show after that scene and the one where he helped Brienne out. And that's a big thing to say as by the end of the 5th novel Jaime is one of my favorite characters.
Chewblaha
R ADWD Spoiler: Would love to see Dany from Tyrion's POV. Could be that she is bat-shit crazy yet because we've only seen her POV everything appears normal. I trust Tyrion's judgement on such things. YES. FINALLY! SOMEONE ELSE THAT AGREES WITH ME THAT IT IS A COMPLETELY POSSIBLE TURN OF EVENTS THAT IS MOST LIKELY GOING TO BE THE CASE!!!! SHE'S THE DAUGHTER OF AN INBRED MANIAC AND HER BROTHER WAS A STONE COLD MANIAC. SHE CALLS DRAGONS CHILDREN, SHE CALLS THE DWELLERS OF THE CITY SHE "LIBERATES" HER CHILDREN. TIME FOR CHEWIE COMPARISONS. WE ALL KNOW THAT CERSEI IS ALEX JONES-LEVEL CRAZY. LET'S SEE HOW: CERSEI IS OBSESSED WITH THE FIRE BURNING DOWN THE TOWER OF THE HAND. JAIME ALLUDES TO THE MAD KING DOING THE SAME. DANY WATCHED HER BROTHER MELT AND HALF A CITY BURN. COULDN'T TAKE HER EYES AWAY FROM IT. CERSEI OFTEN COMPLETELY DISREGARDS THE INFORMATION OF HER SMALL COUNCIL AND OFTEN DREAMS OF BONIN' THEM. DANY DOES THE EXACT SAME THING. CERSEI BELIEVES IN A STUPID PROPHET, SO DOES DANY. CERSEI TAKES SAID WORDS OF PROPHET AND TRIES TO SHAPE HER EVERY DAY LIFE AROUND THAT. DANY DOES THAT A THOUSANDFOLD OVER. FIFTY THOUSAND TROOPS FROM DORNE IF I HOLD UP THIS PACT? OOOOPS SOME VOICE ONLY I CAN SEE AND HEAR TOLD ME TO BE CAREFUL. WELP! THERE GO THE TROOPS! Other ideas to watch out for: The ones TN (my damn buddy) listed: We've never seen Dany in a POV other than her herself. The only POV we've ever had that comes close to analyzing her is Barristan. Go read Barristan's POV. The one where he sits in his house thinking. He alludes to, very subtly, the possibility that maybe he would've or should've been the one to stick the sword into the back of the Mad King. Go back. Read it. Go back, NO GO BACK. READ IT. HE ALLUDES TO IT. DANY WILL DIE WHEN BARRISTAN JAMES LORENZO SELMY SHOVES THAT BLADE OF HIS THROUGH HER BACK. MARK IT!
Faiblesse Des Sens
I didn't like that turn of events until that very last thing you posted. That would actually be pretty awesome. Then again, I'm only saying that because the scene with Barristan last night is fresh in my mind.

Waldorf and Statler
I hate Daenerys more with every passing episode. I don't know if the show intended it but I already disliked her cocky nature in the novels, but in here god damn I want to slap her.
Mal
I've been noticing it as well. She always has that smug look on her face. Now with Daario on the scene, it'll be a long road till (Spoiler ALL)... ... we see this. This is the point where (I feel) Dany turns around and becomes more mature (though I'll admit it is a stretch since this and those in the Dothraki Sea are her last parts in ADWD). Then of course there is Chewie's Dany is batshit insane theory. At least in two weeks we'll get to the Red Wedding. Delicious tears. People got to listen to Ramsay and his "If you think this has a happy ending. You haven't been paying attention. *Bastard Smile*" Edited May 20, 2013 by MaliciousH
Waldorf and Statler
I agree with Chewie's assessment on Dani, mostly because I can't stand her. And I understand she's a relatively young girl but when she BOOKS SPOILERS denies the chance of an allegiance because the boy was plain looking and she wanted some mercenary dick in her That was my "I'm done with this bitch" part. also when she gets rid of my bear. TCP
Yeah but the bear befriends Tyrion. Tyrion > Danny. Course he also ends up in slavery, which is less rad.

Faiblesse Des Sens
How is it sexism? When the fuck did I say that I approved of Robert. Quite an accusation to throw over something so trivial. Calling her a bitch, saying you can't stand her, getting upset that a 14 year has sex as a motivation, etc. So far she's done nothing bad in the show yet somehow she has created all of this hate. Oh no! A woman with power! How terrible. Anyways, yeah Hot Heart, that shows just how fucking brutal the marriage situation is for the Lannisters. Tywin is the hardest motherfucker in the series. Waldorf and Statler
Are you so far up your ass it clouds your vision? You took my complaints for her character's motivations and instantly assumed it went to "oh no a woman with power!". In fact you even said "oh no a woman with power!" to mock me, which isn't your first time. What are you? Every commenter on Kotaku who decides to defend every criticism dealt to bad women characters as an attack on their sex? I call her a bitch the same way I'd call a man a dudebro or a douche. It's an insult not meant to be taken any more seriously than anything else. I don't even need to point out how many powerful women in the novels I enjoy because this is ridiculous, slap yourself for me. Faiblesse Des Sens
Because I don't see any justification as to why you would think the way you do. Yes, she gets a bit crazy later on when things stagnate, but as of now she's by far the strongest female character and making nothing but right, powerful moves.
Waldorf and Statler
Now that we're past name-calling, that's fine. You've seen nothing but smart moves. I've seen a cocky character who the majority of her decisions are "here are my dragons, draconis". Later on in the novel when she basically has to escape for her life because she turned the power she had against her. We don't even know what her next move will be since she escaped by herself. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt until the next novel as to whether she goes back and throws a hissy fit or regains her army and leaves. it was satisfying. And as to strong women characters, I'd rather go with Melissandre or the Queen of Thorns. Or Brienne. Or Arya. She commands an army currently in the show. That's all I like of her. The bear thing I mentioned earlier in spoilers stung the most, and that was more of a petty complaint as it's not so much her character's fault. edit: before I forget, yes I realize I also called Aegon cocky at first, but it wasn't meant as the focus and admittedly it was bad word choice. Maybe it's a Targaryen thing with me. Edited May 21, 2013 by Waldorf And Statler
Thursday Next
As far as I agree with Chewie's assessment on Dani, mostly because I can't stand her. Don't want to speak for W&S but I felt the same way when: Robb screwed the Frey alliance up. Though I do wonder if it would have happened anyway. Thinking with your genitals because you are immature is an irritating character flaw. It doesn't help when you have read ADWD and had to put up with all her "Who do I screw next?" crap. Also, FDS, she pretty obviously is not 14 in the series so it's harder to cut her slack on this point.

Mister Jack
I am mostly tepid toward Daenerys but I can definitely understand why people would find her annoying. Personally (again, speaking as someone who hasn't read the books), my favorite female character right now is Brienne. Arya would probably be my runner up.
