Chewblaha
I don't know the provenance of this (I think I'd seen it as a general joke beforehand) but: Game of Thrones drinking game: drink until it doesn't hurt anymore. http://i.imgur.com/GhzRApw.jpg http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/400x/21103864.jpg http://i.imgur.com/NaDBK5n.jpg Oh, and I'm missing the significance of that image, MaliciousH. Please do share! Wendel Manderly is the son of Wyman Manderly, Lord of White Harbor. The most southern city of the North and the major trading hub. Wendel is killed in the book eating food when a bolt goes through his mouth. His father, Wyman (The Lord too fat to sit on a horse), is not to happy about it... WALLY! To answer your question: The main events take place in less than a minute. Edited June 3, 2013 by Chewblaha
Waldorf and Statler
I can't for the life of me remember too much of the White Harbor guys. Is that the Lord that Pretends to be with the Lannisters but sends the Onion Knight to find Arya?

He's also the guy that murders those Freys in the road and has them baked into a shepherd's pie.
Waldorf and Statler
That's right. I forgot he even existed as he all but disappears after Bran and him split.

Chewblaha
The Red Wedding was suitably brutal. I thought they brought it to the small screen wonderfully. Disagree. Needed the Smalljon destroying that guy with the leg of lamb, flipping the tables over, certain beasts running wild. I disagree completely. madbassman39
Just finsihed the latest episode, haven't read this far in the books yet, and oh. my. goodness. That was just a twist! On a side note, people on my facebook feed are assholes for two reasons. 1) blatant spoilers and 2) those who've read the books think they are superior because they already know whats going to happen? I had someone comment on my friends status "I don't know why you were surprised, it was in the book!" No shit, but some people haven't read the books! Just because you read the books, comic books, movies, games before they were cool, doesn't mean everyone should have the same experience as you and doesn't make you better than anyone else. Fuck I hate assholes. Fucking fantasy story hipsters and their choices to have read the books! I've read many books before they were movies/shows/games and I'm not a dick about it because some people are being introduced to the fiction through new media! I'm in a bad mood, Bassman out

But yeah... as someone who read the books that was still a hell of a scene. Not really happy about them killing off Jeyne though... especially if that's implying something about the books. Yea, I just was in a bad mood about the response people have. I do plan on going back and re-reading the first book and finishing up the stories, but I once they announced it was a TV show I decided to wait until after I've seen the show before I read it, cause usually the books are much better. As a side note, It may have seemed I hate people who read fantasy novels, and thats not the case, I love fantasy novels, but I was just mad at people acting like I was a dummy for not having read the books first
CorgiShinobi
I really don't belong in this thread, what with not reading the books or watching the series, but even I have heard/seen the reaction to this episode. People losing it, declaring they're finished, and so forth. So I watched the bit in question. The acting got me laughing my ass off, and quite frankly as far as violence and gore go, it was silly. Sure, if I cared about the characters, let alone knew who they were, I'd probably be experiencing feels. That's not the case, and I will continue sitting on the sidelines and eating my bucket of popcorn as a fandom begin to rip asunder.
Thursday Next
I'm actually quite impressed that the book readers (myself included) were able to keep a humdinger like that under wraps for so long. Contrast with people like Frankie Boyle who a) Spoiled the show for anyone who did not watch it live (so to speak) and b) then proceeded to wreck the rest of the books. I've loved seeing people's reactions. My friends have been calling and texting asking why I didn't warn them, asking if they should keep watching or just abandon it before it gets even worse. I just keep quiet. I'd have been devastated if someone had spoiled the books. I'm not about to do the same to the fans of the show.

Waldorf and Statler
I just realized they made Jon Snow look like a total ass for abandoning her, but we all need to remember that the Wildlings were about to kill an innocent old man and are there to attack the Crows, where Jon's friends are, with a massive force. Also Thursday: I've had non-book readers ask me if it's worth sticking around since the good guys keep getting murdered while the baddies are all laughing and enjoying themselves and I tell them that next season is very good in terms of quality and that they should stick around because it's worth it. I don't give them spoilers but promise the whole show isn't a massive "kill the good guy" fest since Tyrion and Jon Snow plus other good guys are still going around. Heck by now we should consider Jaime a good guy... at least relative to others. Speaking of Jaime yesterday I realized a portion of the fanbase still hates his guts for how he was portrayed in the first season. I hated him too but his interactions with Brienne, his explanation of how he got the Kingkiller name and his inner monologues when he becomes a POV character sold me on him to the point I love him now. Hot Heart
HE PUSHED A KID OUT OF A WINDOW AND STABBED THAT DUDE IN THE EYE AND GARROTTED ANOTHER GUY AND PROBABLY SOME OTHER THINGS. Seriously, though, he still has a long way to go but I'm happy to watch the arc. As long as Arya, Jorah and Tyrion are OK then I'm happy. Waldorf and Statler
Hot Heart: he pushed a kid off a balcony because if he told anybody what he saw the whole royal bloodline would be called into question and there'd be a shitstorm that could end up in the death of his family. "The things I do for love". As to killing people everybody else has killed people as well. His cousin in the novels, if I recall correctly, wasn't killed by him so I don't know they decided on that for the show but I assume it was to show his desperate state to get back to his family. He has every intention to keep his promise to Catelyn and has grown attached to Brienne though. He's not a good guy by any means but the only good guys in this novel tend to die or be killed outside of Tyrion who, while generally good, also has his dark side. Thursday Next
Who's a good guy? Jaime was annoying when he was just a sword and his sisters consort. His time on the road with Brienne really makes him likeable as he develops into three dimensional character and not just a handsome villain. He's done hideous things in the past for sure, but he has never been needlessly cruel. He didn't kill Ned because it wasn't a fair fight. He killed Mad King Aerys because he was going to destroy Kings Landing and everyone in it with Wildfire. He pushed Bran out the window to save himself and his sister. Killing his cousin was out of character in my opinion. I don't even recall why he did it truth be told... Think they should have just left the cousin out altogether.
