Faiblesse Des Sens
Chelsea Wolfe's "Feral Love" is the song. So stoked that they're using her work. She's amazing. http://chelseawolfe.bandcamp.com/
Mal
So, how do you guys feel that the show is very likely going to overtake the books?
TCP
Basically this: I mean it's not ideal, but I read the first two books after watching the first two seasons and enjoyed them just fine.
danielpholt
So, how do you guys feel that the show is very likely going to overtake the books? As a fan of the books, I'm not too pleased about it, but there's no way we'll be able to avoid show (and thus), book spoilers. Not with the popularity of the show as it is currently anyway. Mister Jack
So did anyone catch the season premiere? I thought it was fantastic, especially Arya's scenes.
Mal
No and I learned that HBO was free yesterday for the premiere. I think I'll be sailing the high seas again till I get the blu-rays.
Mister Jack
Hell, I don't even get HBO.
Hot Heart
I liked it. Mostly setup, but still good. I hated the previous actor who played Dario, but I'm not sure I like this one much either... Wow, the chances of Arya finding her sword are the same as finding...a Needle in a haystack! olololol.
TCP
Yeah the previous Dario was the worst, this guy is much better. Book spoilers: Thenn's becoming cannibals was an interesting change. I wonder who Jon will marry the Karstark girl too? Unless they know that sublot is not important so they're just going to drop it.
Mal
If there are mountains, rivers and valleys, you bet that we geologists will be on it! To be fair, the mid-ocean ridge and the thrust/subduction seems to be kind of odd but overall... Old gods and the new, eat rock and magma. Do they ever explain in any of these articles why they act like Southeros doesn't exist?
Mal
I think the main reason would be is that we do not know much about Southeros besides its covered in rainforest and the like, and is dangerous as hell. Sure we know that some cities dot the coast but that is pretty much it. Same can be said of the Summer Islands (Not as much) and Ulthos (Continent southeast of Asshai). We need to know the topography, stony building material or any geologic resources that these people may be around. Edit: Also notice how they only covered a portion of Essos. I think the main reason is to avoid the Doom. We know enough to do something with Slaver's Bay but even I would avoid Valyria. That would be quite a gap in the map. Hell, even now I would be hard pressed to come up with something for the Doom. Shit is odd. Edited April 10, 2014 by MaltaliaH

Mr. GOH!
I imagine the Doom of Valyria, (including the volcanoes in which dragons were found by the ancient Valyrians) is magical and therefore the topography of Valyria may not be subject to traditional geologic interpretation.
Mal
Yeah. The Doom still reigns in Valyria even after 400-500 years (~300 of Targ rule with ~100 before Aegon conquered Westeros). The place got blighted and still remains a danger for people to go into. Regarding dragons, there may still be more in the Far East in the lands beyond Asshai. Anyways, fuck the King. That was a nice good start to the season. The little part before the opening sequence started was nice and made my blood boil. Such is the Song of Ice and Fire. At least I got Dorne to love. Mal
Perfection. During this episode, they threw so much hints to the viewers and nods to readers. Notice all the pans at crucial quotes/scenes to The Queen of Thorns. If I recall, it wasn't set in stone on who poisoned Joffery but this seals it. Necklace (Sansa's) and all. Also that conversation between Oberyn, Tywin and Cersei.
madbassman39
I haven't read much of the books, so I have no idea how the series is heading, but the latest episode!! WOW!! I did not expect to see that little asshole die until the end of the series. He was the main antagonist! Now I'm excited to see how this event changes everything.I'm concerned for Tyrion, having being blamed for poisoning the king, because the show made it obvious he wasn't the one who did it.I'm curious to see how Tywin handles the death, AND who will take over the kingdom. Edit: protagonist changed to antagonist, because I'm bad at grammar Edited April 14, 2014 by madbassman39
TCP
In a lot of ways Joffrey is the total opposite of Ned Stark, so it makes sense if Ned is too pure, honourable, and good for GRRM to allow living, then Joffrey is too evil. However, he's not the smartest character, he's dumb, impulsive, and nowhere nearly as cold and calculating as Tywin, Roose Bolton, or even Cersei. I don't think he's ever been the main antagonist. That would be winter. Or the white walkers. OR.... Danny.

Hot Heart
Thanks to a couple of asswipes on Twitter, whom I have since ceased following, the big moment was spoiled. Discovered that Sky Atlantic's 'simulcast' boast was for the first episode only, which is pretty pointless... However, it was still a good episode despite some hammy dialogue. I'm excited to see where things go from here. It does seem pretty obvious that cool granny Tyrell is responsible, but I'm curious about your necklace remark, Mal, as I wasn't sure about the Ser Dontos relevance either. I guess the two things are related somehow.
TCP
Concerning Dontos: Well, considering Dontos appeared and said to Sansa "Come with me if you want to live" as soon as shit goes down would tell me, if I was a TV-only fan, that he was at least somewhat involved.
