Finally started watching this. Only on episode 3 so far, but holy shit is everything perfect :D (well, except for Jason Momoa as Khal Drogo... )

The only thing that bugs me a bit is things seem to be moving way too fast, but that's inevitable when trying to condense such a long book into 10 hours, I guess.

Once I'm done watching, I think I'll have to finally get back to the books. It's been like two years since I read A Clash of Kings, though. Probably gonna have to read a summary on wiki to refresh my memory.

Yeah... so just finished book one. I'm still a little in shock from the endings to the various storylines; I guess when you're used to cliche fantasy tropes, the twists and turns that Martin takes you down can be a little startling. Overall, an amazing read though. Now I just need to get Clash of Kings...

Had a 2 hours break between classes yesterday so I found myself a spot in the grass and started reading A Storm of Swords. :D

Watching the tv show only 2 weeks ago probably helped, but it sucked me right back in from the very first page.

Of course, now I'm fucked if I want to remember how I originally pictured the characters. The actors have completely overwritten my imagination. :(

I seriously need to read that Clash of Kings recap, though. I realized while watching the show that I remember very little of it, and starting Storm made that all the more painfully clear.

A chapter started, and when they referred to something that had happened in the previous book, I went "Wait, what? That happened?!"

It's weird but I remembered book 1 much more clearly than book 2, and I read them about 3 and 2 years ago respectively.

Oh well, done with school for the day and I've got another 2 hours break tomorrow, so I better get started on that recap. :)

The Wall looks like a wall, not a pile of rock and ice? I'm guessing the Night's Watch of old could have had kept it that way...

Seems like one of those cheap cash in games but we'll see. Main reason is the game is taking place many many years before the books. So it might be good.

I'm on the 3rd book and I think its still great. If I recall hearing correctly, it just gets grim dark. It also might be reader fatigue kicking in since there are five books currently and they are all pretty damn long. They seem to get longer with each book. It also may suffer from what Harry Potter did... it just takes so long to get the next book and by then your expectations are pretty damn high to the point that they can't be reached.

I personally read on for Tyrion, Dany, Jon and Arry. Some of the side characters parts are really nice too for example... want to read what is going on in the head of another Lannister? Keep at it and take breaks. Currently I am on a month long break, only reading one chapter every so often. I find myself thinking of the story every now and then to slowly process all the information from the first two books... which I killed in 2-3 weeks for both.
