Good ep!

Now that Roose is dead, the North is gonna fall into chaos. Good times.

I also love that we got to see both Wun Wun and Zombie Mountain just bash mofos to death.

Oh, and Jon Snow LIVES!

But most importantly, it looks like next week we take a trip down memory lane to the Tower of Joy. Cannot wait!

I just voted! I'm so smart.

This was the best episode in a long, long time in my opinion.

I'm sure many were confident about the outcome of the final scene, but I wasn't, and the suspense positively killed me. I think I have a bit of a personal attachment too. My mother was a huge fan, and was devastated to see John done in that way. Some of my last casual conversations with her before she passed had to do with the little theories she was reading about somewhere on the internet. So yeah... it's a bit embarrassing to admit, but that was a highly emotional ending for me to watch.

I was fairly confident he would be revived until the actual scene, when I started to think maybe they were just doing that because they knew people thought he would be revived so they had to at least have them try. Though nothing short of them actually burning his body would have convinced me he was dead forever.

Things are moving along at a good pace for the first time since season 1. Lovin' it. The books being slow and methodical work for that format but this is better television than 2 seasons of Bran walking in the woods.

I'm interested to see where things are going with Sansa. I would assume the end goal this season for her would be for her to get some Vale soldiers but I'm not sure how Littlefinger will find her when she's hiding in the woods. Then again, Brienne of Tarth found her. Maybe Littlefinger will find those hounds that mysteriously disappeared last episode and use them to find Sansa!!

Tower of Joy, so much hype. I really hope they just show the full outcome of that and not leave us with answers. I want to know! Well, I want things confirmed.

Hooray, this season isn't going slow at all.

I was thinking that maybe they were going to make it agonising and Jon wasn't going to come back until they burned his body and he walked out. Like a Targaryen.

...which is basically why Lyanna was shown in Bran's vision, right?

Also, we're seeing Melisandre's visions coming true (Balon was supposed to die a while back though, really, right?) and so the victory she saw at Winterfell must be that coming later this season. Why do things look too hopeful?

p.s. whatchu talkin' 'bout, Hodor?

Le sigh at another jesus narrative

Really not happy he's alive - unless there's a twist. He's part ice person. He's cognitively handicapped. He's lawful evil instead of lawful good.

There needs to be something else

Aside from that, it's going fucking great, best pace the show has ever had. You can even see where they're fast tracking things that would have dragged for episodes and episodes in earlier seasons

I think, in the books, Euron isn't even in the Iron Islands when Balon "falls off a bridge" but arrives soon after. And there's some vision that hints at him having hired a faceless man to kill Balon. The show just straight up goes, "Yep, Euron did it."

Euron actually had a dragon egg and people have speculated that, since killing a king carries a high price, this is how he paid for it. There's other stuff beyond that but I won't say anymore because it could be future spoiler-y and I'd probably mess up explaining it.

It's heavily implied that Euron returning when he did is too convenient to be coincidental and that there is no way that Balon would fall off a bridge, they don't say it, but they definitely hint that Euron done it to kick off the Kingsmoot. Balon is supposed to have died around the same time as Rob Stark and Joffrey Gendry's leeches got there in the end I guess...

I kind of swore off the show but my roommates watches it. I can't help but follow it for Jaime, Theon and Ayra. All others... eh.

But hey, Balon's death being on screen was neat. Then there's Euron. I want to see his speed boat.

Edit: Also there are the flash backs. They might actually flesh out R+L=J. Tower of Joy me.

Well I finally caught up with season 5 and 6.  I sorta got distracted from watching this show because I was so preoccupied last year, but binging it was an emotional rollercoaster.

Season 5 was one long session of getting kicked in the nads, even for this show. Myrcella, the one good Lannister besides Tyrion, was cruelly killed. Poor Sansa got raped by Ramsay Bolton of all people. The White Walkers kicked everyone's asses and Jon Snow fucking DIED. The one that really hurt me, though, was Stannis sacrificing Shireen like that. Up until then, I was more or less on Team Stannis because he seemed like the most pragmatic and reasonable candidate for the throne with the best chances of winning it to boot, but I instantly turned on him after that scene. His death at Brienne's hands was well-deserved. Season 5 was so hopeless that I'm glad season 6 starts off with at least Roose Bolton finally getting his, even if it was at Ramsay's hands. On the plus side, Ramsay is not even half the warden his father was so he's probably just sown the seeds of his own downfall. On a side note, I absolutely DESPISE Ellaria Sand and her stupid daughters. Their actions are completely petty, senseless, and even stupid, and they spit in the face of what Oberyn would have wanted. I greatly need to watch them die soon. I can't take an entire season of those people. They suck.

Didn't see Stannis die, so I'm not sure he did. No idea what redemption is going to look like for that guy though...

I didn't mind Roose, he was vicious, but only to a point. Agree that Ramsay is on borrowed time, but Rickon turning up is a major blow, even though he was the least likeable of the Starks, pity about Shaggy-Dog. Only Nymeria, Summer and Ghost left now.

Agree on the sand snakes, they clearly have no idea of the wheels Doran had set in motion, he would have been a great ruler.

Glad to see Arya's arc on an upward swing again. Sam's bit was boring. We all know he's useless, can we just skip to the bit where he's in Old Town?

Where the hell is Drogon? Tyrion and Varys in Meereen is great stuff.

Finally, bye Jon Snow, hi Jon Stark!
