The thing about this episode is that it could've been great. It's just they never walked each character's narrative to this point. What happened was more like those ballista/scorpion bolts in the last episode. Fire hard and fast so it bust through EVERYTHING. Now when we get to the current episode, let those bolts slow to a crawl and be completely ineffective.

So what exactly are people's problems with this episode? They say it doesn't make sense but I don't see the issue. And don't use the books as an excuse because we're way past that now.

A lot of people have an issue with Dany going crazy. I actually think Dany going crazy and burning a city of innocent children and families is something that should have happened. But they way they portrayed it definitely didn't feel earned. She went crazy why?? Because Jon didn't want to bang? Give me a fucking break.

My main gripe is with Jamie fucking Lannister. This dude just spent 8 seasons growing as a person. In season 3 (?) we learn no, he's not just some ruthless Kingslayer, he killed King Aerys because Aerys was about to burn down King's Landing. Jamie scarified his own reputation, potentially his life, to save the people. Then years later, he leaves behind his sister lover, who's pregnant with his nephew/niece/child to go fight for the living and save the world. And they have the nerve to make Jamie say he's never cared about the people? Give me a fucking break. They've taken this dude who pushed 8 year old lil Bran out a window without giving it a second thought into someone who is compassionate and carrying. Someone who won the heart of Brienne of Tarth, one of the most honourable people in the entire Seven Kingdoms. And you're going to tell me, nah bro, he's going to go support Cersei and comfort her and give his life for her. Give me a fucking break. It's hack writing.

It's great from a production standpoint. The destruction of King's Landing, for a television show, absolutely amazing. Most of the acting is pretty great. In fact, Emilia Clarke, who I've never felt was a particularly strong actor, her scene on Drogon when she decides to burn the city... great!! Arya's whole sequence is awesome (and I hope they release the full 12 minute take at some point). The Hound vs The Mountain was a little silly in concept but was executed well. What I'm trying to say is there's a lot of good stuff in this show. But the writing, the plotting, however you want to describe it, was an embarrassment.

A lot of things have happened in this season that would be fine for most standard television shows. But when seasons 1 - 4 contain a world that is so meticulously crafted, and you end with.... this. It's very obvious and very hard to watch.

Wow, even the general audience is pissed now. Never thought I would see it. The way I see it, David and Dan really did not Dany's descent stew long enough. Additionally, they are literally rushing to finish this. You can absolutely tell from the after-the-show interviews. They look completely lost and say idiotic things. HBO was even offering more seasons! With that said...

Kinda quick Q: the lad in grey at that final meeting was the lad from the Vale right? The weirdo one who was breast fed still at 10 or whatever?

I liked Tyrions little speech about "stories". End of the day centuries later the War of the Roses (which much of GoT follows), House York was mainly supported by southerners but still the White Rose is the symbol of Yorkshire and plastered all over the place.

It ended kinda how it had to really. I was satisfied.

I mean, I guess I was? I really cannot expect much else. All my nerd rage is gone. All is left is laughter. The last episode opening could have been this

Nothing that was built up came to fruition. The writing was also terrible as we all know. EH. Oh.
