Hocking
Â Oh..wow...I'm laughing so hard after watching that. It's like some kind of twisted into for a 1980s XBOX detective show.
MetalCaveman
Both Halo 4 and the CE Anniversary edition were leaked before the conference so they weren't as much as a surprise as I would have liked them to be, definitively looking forward to more information about Halo 4. Â Gears of War was cool too, but I already have it pre-ordered so it doesn't matter that much, would've been cool if they announced the special edition 360 during their presentation and not after the whole thing. Â I also loved the kinect thing with Ghost Recon Future Soldier, looks really cool IMO. Â Aside from that, I do feel Kinect takes too much time of their conferences and that they should show some other stuff.
Yantelope
Someone brought up the point that the voice stuff with Kinect is BS. They could have done any of that with the headset long ago. In fact, not enabling those features with the headset is kind of a crappy way to treat your base.
Hot Heart
I caught that short interview with Frank O'Connor about Halo 4 and the CE remake. Kinda cool that the remake has that option to switch between old and new looks like the Monkey Island games. They mentioned co-op but not whether it was only for 2 or up to 4 and I'm assuming that means online. What was odd though is that the multiplayer is using the Reach engine. I never liked MP in Halo CE but I figured folks would want it how it was before. At least it will feature some Firefight which I've always liked. ODST was mentioned as regards to pricing but we all know how that turned out... Â As for Halo 4, I can't really get excited without knowing much about it. I liked the whole Covenant conflict and all so I'm not sure I'll like whatever's going to be happening in the new trilogy.

I said the same thing on Kotaku, but some guy replied and said that the Kinect microphone was way better than any headset and you wouldnt be able to do it any other way......thats a bunch of crap. It just is.
Hot Heart
Wasn't there a Tom Clancy game a while back that was supposed to use voice command stuff? Don't think it was very good though...
Strangelove
My phone has a voice command thing. I just say something while Google is up and itll take me to it. It hardly ever makes a mistake. This tech really isnt anything special.
deanb
Yeah Vista brought it in, it's quite handy if you can be arsed to learn it. I've forgotten the commands now. Hot Heart
That's it. Yeah, I didn't mean the tech wasn't very good just that since the game wasn't setting the world on fire (figuratively-speaking. I'm sure Tom Clancy would love to literally set the world on fire) it wasn't seen as a great addition to games, in general.
Yantelope
Well, for those of you who remember there was the original SOCOM which came with a headset and you talked to your squad mates and they talked back through the headset. It was pretty cool at the time as I recall. This tech has been around for about 9 years now and it hasn't caught on though... I do wish they include headset support for that stuff though, more options = good IMO.
Yantelope
Yeah, the fact that you can only give orders with the Kinect mic is ridiculous. I guarantee you that mic on a headset would provide a clearer input.

Although, that may just be the VOIP codec they use. Perhaps headset-to-console could be clearer...

I had to seriously struggle to get the mic to understand the orders I was giving. Eventually I just said "fuck it" and went with regular controls. I guarantee you that mic on a headset would provide a clearer input. Â It does both. Just the headset won't net MS $150. We're talking ME3 yeah, cos they even used the headset instead of Kinect on-stage (I'd imagine kinect doesn't like several thousand chattering voices)

I only remember that no matter what I said, it would interpret as the "move to" order or whatever it was called, annoying, but it was still kinda fun, tried the voice commands for EndWar too, and it wouldn't detect the 360 headset so I gave up.
