Ubisoft's patching the much-complained-about pop-up notifications. Actually the patch will let you turn off all UI elements individually if you wish. When did Ubisoft become an awesome publisher?

I haven't even played the game but

YESSSSSSSSSSSS

One of my favourite features a dev can put into a game. Loved it in Assassin's Creed: turn everything off once you've mastered the game, get immersed in the world, unreal. Loved it in Dishonoured: tweaked the shit out of the UI until it basically looked completely bare, but had a very translucent crosshair which you only notice if you really have to aim, and a fading health/ mana bar. So I can take in the gorgeousness without any inhibitions, and the gameplay mechanics aren't comprimised. Amazing.

That's awesome. Fingers crossed they might make some of the confirm messages in the inventory menus go away too when selling things.

Alright, I'm somewhat interested in this game, but I have to ask.

Are the antagonists, especially "Vaas," even that good of villains? I mean, that guy is the poster child for the game, and I swear it's like Ubisoft wanted to make a Handsome Jack for their game. I understand though that he's not the main baddy, but still, you have to get invested if your character is suppose to go on a wild rampage,

I'm halfway through and

Vaas is seeming to be like Vader to another dudes Palpatine.

(very minor)

Though the true villain is you.

(somewhat big, don't click unless completed game or fine with spoilers. I came across this one cos I stupidly read spoilers, but don't much care. In a way it adds to the lead up so might be wroth checking.)

It's still a VG story, you don't exactly even meet him that much either. But his VA goes all out, which at least is worth seeing.

Well, Vaas is not especially "deep" compared to some other villains, but he's quite compelling. In fact, just about every bad guy on the island is a completely unrepentant monster you will want to murder with your bare hands. Seeing that they're slavers who kidnap and sell people just for the money, a thing which is still very much going on in the real world, it's pretty satisfying to excise those cancers of humanity. I've felt more remorse over shooting zombies than these guys.

Yeah, but then you have to find said animal. While I first found them fine, I was also fighting off enemies. After dealing with three vehicles, it was like the goats just left the island because even with Hunter's Instinct they had completely vanished. Kept finding tons of rabid dogs, but finally I found three goats walking under a cliff.

I may have to just kill animals as I see them rather than if I actually need them currently.

Never had a problem with sharks. Deers were a pain because you kill one and all of them go off in different directions. Then after chasing down another for its skin, you've forgotten where that other dead animal was (or maybe it slide off a cliff).

Anyway, I've got almost every expansion with the exception of the Man Eater Shark. I haven't unlocked that side mission yet, but killing the black leopard with an arrow was the hardest thing I've done in the game so far. Even with that syringe animal killing boost it took three arrows if they didn't hit the head.

Alright, I'm probably going to find the answer after some digging, but is there a way to make jumps and NOT take damage? I decided to quit in the middle of that ancient underground fortress mission, but what I did play of it had me losing my upper most health slot because jumping to another platform caused damage.

I get the sense that those behind the game wanted some sort of survival realism, but I truly favor a shooter where I can at least do standard jumps without consequences.
