Yantelope
I want a current-gen Blood Money. Here: I agree with what you guys are saying about Hitman not losing its identity. The best part about the series IMO was the sandbox nature of your objectives. The fact that there were many different options and ways to accomplish your goals was the best part and I hope the game doesn't lose that aspect. Connorrrr
I want a current-gen Blood Money. Here: Heh, yeah what I meant was one that isn't also released on the ps2, therefore not pretty. Disclaimer: I know graphics aren't everything and I still play and enjoy blood money from time to time. Waldorf and Statler
I'm gonna give him a try, simply because I've always argued 47 could kick Ezio's ass in a no-hands all terrain fight.
Mister Jack
http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/05/30/opinion-what-the-hell-is-with-that-hitman-trailer So does anybody agree with all the hullabaloo saying that the last Hitman trailer went too far? CorgiShinobi
Advertising for the Hitman series has always been a little "over the line." To this day I still remember a magazine ad for Blood Money where a cellist's throat was cut with wire, and in the article it shows the bullet hole in the woman's head spread. Still, I think this is overreacting, though with some valid criticism. It's mostly a interesting trailer with violent action. The direction, I feel, was that these women were going from fully-clothed figures to sexy-deadly assassins. Agent 47 getting dress isn't about how "men are fully clothed, and women arent." You see his battle scars and know from those few shots that he has experience and lived through deadly encounters. Still, it's not exactly a trailer I would show a non-gaming group and ringing out the merits of video games. It does go about the "sex sells" route. Of course, it's Hitman and you're bound to be going through adult themes in this M-rated series. Would I like it if more female assassins didn't always wear tight unrealistic clothes? Eh, mostly, but there's always room for it. Just, it would be cool to get some deadly ladies like Sniper Wolf. Maybe it was because Metal Gear Solid was in Alaska, but she was just fine in that coat of her's. EDIT: Heh, looked up Sniper Wolf again and the massive cleavage completely slipped my mind. Maybe it was because of those PS1 graphics it didn't hit me right away. Perhaps not the best example... Maybe "sexy" and "deadly" have to go together. Mister Jack
Bayonetta always seems to get brought up in these things now.
toxicitizen
That nuns trailer was a bit stupid but yeah, it's in line with what they did before and I think as usual people are blowing it way out of proportion. So basically, business as usual in the gaming community. Anyway, as a huge fan of the series, I'd so far been worried about what I'd seen. I was afraid they were "streamlining" it or makinge it too action-oriented or whatever else dumb things devs do with games nowadays. This walkthrough really put my mind at ease and actually makes me quite happy Can't wait!
Vecha
I want to buy Hitman Absolution as an Xmas gift to my little brother. He games primarily on PC....but they don't sell hard copies of Hitman Absolution on PC in NA. So...guess I'll wrap him a steam giftcard and write...HITMAN on it? Really am disliking the digital revolution and its effects on gaming. Guess eventually we will just wrap digital giftcards to eachother for xmas... Not the same as giving him a physical copy but it's less boring than handing him a giftcard.

Luftwaffles
Give him a CD or DVD case with a lousy drawing of a Hitman cover on the front. Then have a note inside saying something like "check steam!"
TheMightyEthan
Buy the gift on Steam, wait until Christmas morning to actually send it to him, write "Hitman" on a rock, put it in a box, wrap that and give it to him.
toxicitizen
Even better: write "Hitman" on a piece of paper which you then wrap around the rock, then on christmas morning you throw it through his bedroom window. Also, a few things worth pointing out. If you're only going to be sending him the game on christmas, then don't buy it right away as you could potentially save a few bucks once the Steam holiday sale starts. But if you do buy it early, then make sure to make your inventory private, otherwise it's going to be sitting there in plain view.
TheMightyEthan
Oh yeah, I was thinking wait until it's a daily deal, and if it's not a daily deal before Christmas then just buy it that morning.
Waldorf and Statler
Even better, shave your head, buy a suit with a white dress shirt and a red tie. Then walk into his closet with a decent length wire, wait for him to come in, kill him, steal his clothing and play the game yourself.
Vecha
Great suggestions guys...though...I kinda like my Polish/Jew fro...so won't be shaving it anytime soon
Waldorf and Statler
If somebody had to describe this game it'd have to be something like: The game where you actually play like Hitman in missions that are old school. And whenever you are given of the newer 'hunted' action packed missions you try, try, try, try and then you give up and just fucking go guns blazing.
toxicitizen
Yeah, I didn't go guns blazing a single time in the entire campaign. I mean, I did do it for fun a few times after screwing up but I'd always reload to a previous checkpoint afterwards.
Waldorf and Statler
The checkpoint system is horrible. The Saints had too many enemies in the last area so I had to do it somewhat steathy. Only like 6 missions away
deanb
Not sure if anyone outside our tiny nation knows the Chuckle Brothers, but here they are playing "Real life Hitman".

TheMightyEthan
I'm amazed this topic never really got much discussion of the new Hitman. Anyway, Io is now an independent studio, and they retain full control of the Hitman IP. Yay! Hopefully this means we'll be able to get a Season 2, especially since episodic games are one of the easier kinds of games for independent studios to finance.
toxicitizen
Development on Season 2 is well underway so I think we'll at least get some form of it. The assumption was that the ~40 millions loss Square-Enix mentioned was the budget invested into Season 2. Hopefully they have or can secure funding to fully develop what they intended. But seriously, they finally get a solid Hitman out the door with a solid engine and on a platform they could support with content for years and this fucking happens. Really glad they landed on their feet but fuck Square-Enix so hard for this one.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, hopefully they can get enough funding to finish the first episode at least, and then use the proceeds from that to finish the rest.
TheMightyEthan
They're releasing a GOTY version of Season 1, which contains all the Season 1 content already released, plus an additional 4-mission campaign and bringing back elusive targets. People who already own Season 1 can upgrade for $20. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-10-24-hitman-game-of-the-year-edition-will-reactivate-elusive-targets
