P4: Gritty Reboot
Ladies and gentlemen of TAY, I give you Jamestown. It's a 4-player local co-op scrolling shoot-em-up on the PC set in 1600's colonial Mars in 16-bit graphical style. If your head didn't explode from that sentence, you have no soul. NO SOUL. I've been burning through the campaign this weekend for an upcoming PXOD review, and it's stellar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QV87Qfcsdr0
Cyber Rat
God, yes, this looks so amazing. It's so high on my purchase list >_<
Saturnine Tenshi
This does look pretty neat, but I still need to finish the Touhou series!

Saturnine Tenshi
Controller enabled.
P4: Gritty Reboot
It's pretty seamless actually. One player can use the keyboard, one on the mouse, more on controllers. The devs even say you can plug in extra keyboards and mice and use those as separate input devices.
Mister Jack
I suppose so but even then it seems like a lot of hassle. I don't know how many people are actually going to be willing to get together extra keyboards or whatever and crowd around a single PC when most people are used to being able to play on their own PCs. I suppose you could say it's better than nothing, but they really should have just found a way to make it online. Ignoring that, it looks pretty good, but from what I read it's ten dollars for five levels. I dunno. If the devs intended to add content down the road I might spring for it. As it is now, though, it doesn't sound like much content.
P4: Gritty Reboot
The campaign is short, to be sure. There are dozens of challenge levels, though, as well as a comedy mode that changes the story, unlockable difficulties that change enemy bullet patterns, and a crazy hard Gauntlet mode that challenges the player to beat all five levels in a row with 2 continues. More content would be nice, I suppose, but the quality of the game and what's included are easily worth $10.

I love offline coop, split screen or not. More games should include that. I'm getting tired of all these online coops, i want to be able to slap a friend on the head when he fucks up something in the game instead of wrting FUUUU in the chat.
Saturnine Tenshi
I agree. If only because I'd like to play with my fiancee offline. Also, I like to fuck things up ALWAYS.

Yeah it's one thing when you're sitting on a couch playing the wii or something, but I've never known anyone who had their PC set up in a way where it would be comfortable or convenient to have four people sitting around it. Kovach_
I use my PS3 on the same monitor that i use for my PC, and i've got a couch behind it, so if people come over i just turn the screen a bit and done. I dislike that whole "console gaming in the living room" thing. But still, even though i guess not a lot of people use offline coop on the PC, i don't see that as a good enough reason for so many games not to include offline coop. +5 points for Jamestown there from me. P4: Gritty Reboot
Offline co-op is great as an option, even if not everyone uses it. Sure, online would be cool, but in games like this local is just better. I've also played Left 4 Dead in splitscreen on the PC, and more recently, Capsized in local co-op that was glorious. Faiblesse Des Sens
My eyes are fucking melting from watching the video. Looks awesome but a bit much when I'm this tired 0_0
excel_excel
Agh I want to get it, but there's a part of me that's like "Excel you won't be able to beat this! YOU CAN'T DO IT!" Fuck it I'll get it! I'm a sucker for all that nice unlockable content
indyit
Got this in the summer sale, it's awesome. Considering it was my first bullet hell game I thought I'd fail miserably but I've done alright... when I started sucking was when I tried to play it with a controller instead of a mouse, but I think it's just an adjustment thing. My game does seem to have something wrong with it however, when I fullscreen the game the framerate drops to a crawling 15fps. When I have it windowed it runs at a smooth 60, i've searched online but no one else seems to have that problem.
jayc4life
That's a bit weird. I picked it up in the sale too and I'm enjoying the hell out of it tbh. Kinda surprised nobody on my friendlist took a dip on it. Seems fun, but I've only played ~30 minutes of it so far in a quick blast.
Battra92
It's well worth the ~$6 I spent on it. It's not a game I'd recommend spending $20 on but it's well worth $6. I know PC people will hate me for saying this, but it would be right at home as WiiWare or on the PSN/XBL.
P4: Gritty Reboot
Nah, it would feel good on either of those platforms. Final Form told PXOD it was done for the PC because of low cost of entry.

Yeah I read that and I know, Dev-Kits are expensive. I wish it ran under WINE because I don't boot into Windows all that much. That may change when I rebuild my PC.
