TCP Posted January 19, 2013 Report Share Posted January 19, 2013 Thank you! I liked season 5 more so than 4. Though it wasn't perfect. Obviously it would have been great to bring Desmond back instead of that guy who was kind of like Desmond, but not really. Donald was one of my favourite parts of the season, it's really too bad he wasn't introduced earlier. I could have done with some more epilogue, I was half expecting Walter to run into William Bell in the future, or something like that, regardless, still a satisfying ending. deanb Posted January 19, 2013 Author Report Share Posted January 19, 2013 I think Fringe Season 5 is perhaps showing that a 13-episode series can work, and work well. Not a minute of season 5 was wasted. It was a rather fitting end to the show. And yeah Donald was great. I think if he was around for too long though it might have worn thing, the writers might try to get a bit "smart" with him. There was great moment between him and Walter, and you realise that they've known each other (the actors) for years. The hugs n breakdowns between John Noble, Joshua Jackson and Michael Cerveris are most likely pulling on a lot of real feelings of their time together soon being up. And obviously on the story side really drove home the background theme of Fringe with the father and son relationship and how far to the ends of the world a father will go for their son. I was kinda hoping that Olivia might have cortexiphaned the "bullet that saved the world" into Windmark's head, but I guess the car was okay. Good to get that knowing look at the end of "oh yeah, I remember what's just happened". As for stuff in the future, it's nearly a century and a half ahead, it'd be pushing it to have stuff from this time period be around then.
