Valkyria Chronicles

Yeah, this is admittedly a very weird choice for a port. Especially considering that Vanquish uses the same engine as Metal Gear Rising, which is already on PC, while this is running on some weird PS3-centric engine. But I think there's definitely an audience for VC on PC. It is a turn-based strategy game, after all.

And, more importantly, this makes me very optimistic that Vanquish is also coming.

I'm curious as to what Sega's expectations are. If this sells well, Im sure Vanquish and whatever else will be on the way, but how well are they expecting this to sell?

I know PC gamers flaunt the number of people who buy stuff, but I wonder how much Sega is expecting to make on this. If I were a PC gamer, I probably wouldnt pay more than $20 for VC1. That should be the absolute base max price. If not lower. $15.
Its such an old game, yet still not old enough to be remade or lifted from nostalgic obscurity. Its in specific bargain bin timeline.

Only people who like this game are people who owned a somewhat gameless phat PS3 in 2008, werent repulsed by the tired anime aesthetic at the time and actually WANTED a strategy rpg on our console(me included). Not a lot of us really. Another vocal minority. I guess this could be like Demon Souls and word of mouth carries it. Who knows.

I expect a lot of "overrated" neogaf threads a week after this comes out on pc. Neogaf fucks a lot of shit up with their overinflated hype.

Yeah, I love the enthusiasm on GAF but holy shit do a lot of them lack the basic common sense that should come with it.

As for SEGA's expectations, that's a good question. I think they should be fairly realistic. They've been in the PC market for a while now and have a lot of titles on Steam. I mean, if even Square Enix and their batshit insane, out-of-touch-with-reality sales expectations can be satisfied enough to do a late port of FFXIII, then surely SEGA can be pleased too.

I freeze my ass in the Sierras to come home to this. A worthy sacrifice. Time to face Rape Tank and Bitch all over again. Then again, I have Marina, blitzkrieg Scouts and anti-armor Assault... I'll be fine.

With that all said, my price is $30 max. I'll be buying it for sure though once i get some sort of sale since this is one of my favorite games.

Yeah, up until that tank mission I didn't even know you could save mid-mission. That mission forced me to both find out and abuse the shit out of it. It's a pain but it's really worth putting up with because it's fairly early on and the rest of the game is so damn good.

Besides, after a few attempts you'll know exactly where to position your guys to both avoid the tank's fire and get a good firing angle on it. It's frustrating but it's really not that bad, just requires a little bit of persistence.

Now, announce a release date already, SEGA, so that I can decide whether I'll wait for this or just play VC2 on my Vita already.

Coming November 11th, includes all the DLC, £14.99/€19.99/$19.99. http://segabits.com/blog/2014/10/30/segas-valkyria-chronicles-officially-announced-for-pc-here-are-the-details/

Seems very reasonable. Never got around to buying any of the DLC so it'll be nice to finally play it.
