AcidCrownie
CLIFF LEE TO THE PHILLIES?! LEE, HALLADAY, OSWALT, HAMELS, JABRONI. BEST. LINEUP. EVER. As a Braves fan, I feel as if winning the division again will be impossible. Provided Lee goes to the Phillies.
Yantelope
Yeah, that's some pretty dominant pitching right there. They also have the bats to back it up so I don't see how they can lose. Then again, everyone thought they would win last year.
Chewblaha
I think that's the best rotation ever. Just my opinion.
Outkastprince
Okay, I'm a Yankees fan (I'm in New York man), and yes, they do spend more money but with the Red Sox and Phillies doing the same I think the bar is about equal right now. I truly think the Phillies could take it all the way if everyone stays healthy, though we shouldn't overlooked the Giants incredible pitching staff. Yantelope
Everyone overlooked the Giants. Sometimes teams just get hot at the end and that's what happened. The Phillies may not win next year but they sure do have the best rotation by far. Chewy may be right, that may be the best rotation ever. c hoertjes
The 1971 Baltimore Orioles would like to have a word with you guys. Palmer, Mcnally, Dobson, and Cueller all won 20+ games, and Cueller had the worst ERA at 3.08. Also, the 1998 Braves: Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Neagle, and Millwood. But it's easily the best rotation on paper of the past decade, and depending on the on-field results, could be #1. You have to figure Halladay and Lee should win 20 games, Oswalt can probably get 16+, and Hamels still has the ability to get 14+.
hatch
yeah I'm personally a big fan of maddux-glavine-smoltz myself also lmbo that two of the three guys to get a bigger contract as a starter than cliff lee are barry zito and....................mike hampton

Chewblaha
Well, yeah on paper it's the best rotation of the past decade. I think they can win 100 games with this rotation. Only time will tell. Though I'm calling it first here that they SHOULD all be 15+ winners. Don't get me wrong, I love Mad-Dog. I think he's the best pitcher of this era and maybe all time, but having those three guys is just killer. I won't even count Hamels and I think that Oswalt, Halladay, Lee just might be the best NLDS rotation ever, thinking ahead that is.
Yantelope
Yeah, I don't really know how another team is supposed to win any of those games. If you're looking at NLDS any other team would love to have just one of those guys as an ace.
Yantelope
Just found this on ESPN. Exactly what we're talking about. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/hotstove10/columns/story?columnist=stark_jayson&id=5920160
AcidCrownie
Or you can contemplate the three succinct words of an NL general manager who had this reaction upon realizing his team would have to face this group: "Oh … my … God." I feel like this guy. Edit: "1991 Braves (Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, Steve Avery, Charlie Leibrandt)" Wow. No wonder we went worst to first. c hoertjes
Indians great (and giant asshole) Bob Feller has passed away at the age of 92. In other news, the Cubs are apparently close to signing reliever Kerry Wood.

Chewblaha
For nothing in return. The Cubs have a few flubs they could've sent hte Royals' way.

Chewblaha
Well I'm the only one here still interested in the MLB. I don't have much to talk about when it comes to my Cubs sucking this bad.
Mal
You seem like the only dude around who is interested in any sport. Personally... I only care about the Giants and maybe the Rockies. Giants has been sucking lately. Rockies. I don't know. Well. Then again, I only watch every now and then.
TheRevanchist
The Rockies? I can't even stand any team that is against the Giants. The closest I came was when the D-backs had Randy Johnson and Craig Counsel. That was because I wanted them on my team. 1 out of those 2 wasn't bad. Yantelope
The Rangers were 7 games up in the west a week ago and now they're only up by 2. This sucks.
