TheRevanchist
I dislike the DH rule. Makes the pitcher less of a man. But, maybe the Cubs will have better success in the AL. And maybe they can get some more rallys together and put up some more runs with a DH. Cubs got a long way to go. I'd go see them if I were around that area. I'm heading to Oakland to check the A's out before they /probably/ move to San Jose. My buddy grew up in Oakland. His dad died when he was little. So he has a lot of memories about that stadium with his dad, and he gets the 20 game package every year to go with his brother and sister. I go with him, as well. Him working in athletic marketing, he also has freinds who work in that stadium. It's a real heartbreaker for him that he might never go to that stadium again to see his beloved team. Cool that you got the The Freak's jersey. Those aren't cheap, and they look sharp.
Chewblaha
Oh, no. The ASTROS are moving to the AL. Have fun with the Rangers, A's, and Angels. Suckers! Edited July 1, 2012 by Chewblaha
Chewblaha
Though I gotta agree with you that the DH rule is indeed stupid. It's really pathetic when you see a baseball player get hurt because they don't know how to run the bases. That was the last great Steinbrenner rant. Chien Mien-Wang is playing against the Lastros in Houston when he is forced to run the bases and gets a stress fracture. Steinbrenner says that making the pitchers pitch is stupid. Every NL team responds with "Your baseball player doesn't know how to run the bases?" Don't get me wrong, the AL teams should always lead the league in runs scored, but that's what happens when you get a free batter who doesn't have to do anything. It's why the NL should normally have the upper hand when it comes to the World Series.
TheRevanchist
That is why I hate these interleague games. They disrupt the flow of the season. In addition, it messes with the records of these teams that means a lot when it comes down to the wire. And, let me put it this way, I would never have a little league team play where the pitcher doesn't get a chance to bat. These are essentially GAMES they play. GAMES that kids love to play. And every part that kids love to do when playing ball is BATTING. Taking that away from the pitcher is dumb. Just plain dumb. The only differences I love to see are about the ballparks themselves. Is hitting the foul pole a foul or in play (homerun, essentially, if you are hitting the foul pole)? Are the ballparks batter friendly or pitcher friendly? How deep is the deepest part of the outfield and how deep does the centerfielder have to play? These are the only fun things about interleague: seeing the small things. Luftwaffles
Cool that you got the The Freak's jersey. Those aren't cheap, and they look sharp. Too bad he's been awful this year. Hell, even Barry Zito is outpitching him.
TheRevanchist
Zito is having a decent year. Even though Timmy is struggling, our pitching is still pretty darn good. If Timmy stays in the slump, we have a chance of making the playoffs. If Timmy pulls through, we have a solid rotation that could put us far in the playoffs. Chewblaha
Pablo Sandoval beat out David Wright to start at the All-Star game. Nice.
TheRevanchist
Third base is an odd position. He won out by voting, which is great for any Giants fan. Having a nickname of Kung Fu Panda keeps you popular with the kids.
P4: Gritty Reboot
Mike Trout.
TheRevanchist
Trout only got write in votes. Since he's a rookie, he is not a household name...yet. I heard he made the team, but as an alternative or something like that.
TheRevanchist
And Trout did an awesome catch yesterday and prevented a home run. That catch should have sealed all questions about him being an allstar.
P4: Gritty Reboot
Or, you know, his leading the AL in hitting and stolen bases. Whichever reasoning you'd like to use
TheRevanchist
No doubt, but I had to mention that catch. DAT CATCH! /Stellar
TheRevanchist
And then 3 stolen bags today. Stole 2nd beating out a bad throw. Stole 3rd and the throw is off, into the outfield and he ran home. F'n awesome!
P4: Gritty Reboot
Trout is such a great ball player. Unbelievable that he's only 20.

Chewblaha
This was a surreal Home Run Derby. Kruk and Adam Jones eating ribs. Chris Berman being Chris Berman. George 'Taco' Bell correcting Chris Berman. Some of it just blew my mind.
TheRevanchist
In the days of The Best Damn Sports Show, Kruk would have been the ass end of the jokes for eating more food. And Berman knows football. During football season, I watch him religiously. Good to see everyone having fun, though. I love all star time. Now it's time for Cain to roll some bitches! TheRevanchist
Damn it! I would have loved to have seen it. I was texting with my buddy about it, and talking about the game with the other guys in the Disney park (all of us checking the score). We could only talk about the score and the stats we get on our phones. I'm ready to watch a good series though. Verlander is a prime stud, Sandy K style pitcher. He could easily destroy any team. I'm just hoping the G-Men can push around the rest of the pitching staff to compensate.
Mal
I tuned in during the 4th since I thought it was coming on later. I missed this hit: Magical game is what I would describe this one. I really hope this momentum holds for the World Series.
TheRevanchist
Detroit is starting to play as bad as the Yankees. Is that A-Rod choking? Oh, no. That is Prince Fielder.
