WTF
This is sort of an undertaking and at the same time it's a lot easier if there's more than one person doing it via a Google Spreadsheet. If people are up for it that's cool, I can start one or maybe Dean or someone. Basically the purpose would be to have an easy to reference spreadsheet for Steam+PC Retail, PS3+PSN, 360+XBLA, Wii+Wiiware (although that's scant now in terms of actual releases) and handhelds. I can post a document right now to start with if we want and then we can shift it elsewhere obviously. I've just made a rough start but I have other things to do. I've not copied my literal document onto it. Here's a link to it https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ajg0UtR14xShdGk3X0JPb2tOUDhNbDBqYVZNNjNiMGc&hl=en_GB A few release dates to note right now are Limbo hits PSN on the 19th and steam on August 2nd. From Dust hits steam on July 27th. Guessing MS just paid for temp console exclusivity as it'll hit the PSN later (however it feels like a PC game). I'll make edits to this OP and hope the mods can edit this as well. Also it'd be nice if we could just keep a document just to know when what's released just to know about release dates since it does help to know when something comes out. deanb
http://board.pressxordie.com/calendar/ We also had a calender set up on PXOD through Google Apps, though it wasn't user customisable. Given that 3.2 update to the forum brings in support for import (maybe export) of Google Calenders, and I came across this http://www.google.com/webelements/#!/calendar we've thought about giving it a revamp. If you want I can make a release calender on the forum calender alongside the community (essentially birthdays) and Events.
WTF
Well seeing as the forum calendar is currently people's birthdays it's probably for the best to leave it as is unless people want to be private about their birthdays. I mean I don't think mine's up though you'd know when I was born from the reg details. The google calendars seem handy though would you want to keep two calendars one for a release schedule with various views and one for what exists right now? It's upto you really. I just figured it'd be easy in one quick document format for people to access, download and the like. Maybe it's just me and charts really . However it's only worth doing if people want to do it really. I mean I don't mind doing most of the updates on it with a little help since I do keep track of release dates to help with budgeting. deanb
You're only seeing Birthdays cos that's the default view for the Community Calender. You can add more, you can see it on the side. I've added up a Release Date one. They'll also show on the bottom of the forum too. And when 3.2 hits we can look into the Google Calender sync side of things. (3.2 also includes the ability to RSVP and comment on calender events too)
Mr. GOH!
Release my date? NEVER! *twirls his moustache and waves his cape around dramatically before picking up a suspiciously human-sized bundle and running away cackling*

TheFlyingGerbil
Since all the events recently disappeared from my google calendar I wouldn't be overly keen to use that.
WTF
Guess I'll wait to see how 3.2 goes before I do anything
deanb
3.2 is up and the RSVP/comments stuff is in place. Basically if you want to add a date for a game go to the calendar, Add Event in the top corner, pop in the name. Under Event Options > Add to Calendar change to Release Dates. Put in a bit of info on the game, maybe platforms, if there's a demo, change for EU dates, link to related thread, trailer, etc. You can "Request RSVP", which in game release terms is a kind of "are you getting this"
