Chewblaha
Thread title says it all. So warning: If you haven't read the books, stay out of this thread. Spoilers (for those of you reading it) are to be denoted by page name or character chapter. I'm doing the former. Post theories based off what you've just read here, crackpot or not. Chewblaha
SO. Just finished Tyrion on page 191 (Hardback cover) and Tyrion makes a comment about how... Tyrion, 191. ...gods and wonders come out to see the birth of kings. Or some shit like that. Now. He's, of course, talking about Young Griff. Now this Young Griff may have blue hair, but he has them purple eyes. He also knows his fair share of history of the world and seems to be an incredibly intelligent man. Though he's still growin', Tyrion notes he could probably melt the heart of any maiden with his eyes in Westeros. Now. Here's what I'm thinkin'. This kid is OBVIOUSLY a Targaryen. But who? Some people claim have CLAIMED baby Aegon, but we all know his face was smashed by the Mountain. Here's my (crackpot) theory? LYANNA HAD FRATERNAL TWINS, JON BEING ONE OF THEM AND YOUNG GRIFF THE OTHER. Young Griff is Jon Snow's fraternal twin. Son of Lyanna and Rhaegar. Dundundunnnnn! Chewblaha
Just THINK ABOUT IT! The horror that Ned and Howland Reed saw? Two twin babies being born to his sister, one who looks like a Targaryen and one who looks like a Stark? Send one off, claim the one that looks like you as your brother? Get the other a nice life, far away from Westeros?
Chewblaha
Also: Pretty sure Wyman Manderly won't kill Davos, but rather let other people know that he did. Think that the Frey's and the Bolton's are gonna meet an untimely end somehow, as it FEELS/SOOUNDS like they're going to ride to war with the Lannisters/Tyrells. I'm interested to hear about what happened to Osha and Rickon though. I also noticed that Dany was warned against Quentyn. Quentyn doesn't seem like a bad guy, I wonder what's gonna happen now. /READS Edited July 13, 2011 by Chewblaha

Chewblaha
I read like ten pages an hour. I take my time with each. Picture the world. Go back. Voices and all that.
Mr. GOH!
I read quickly. Also got my hands on a copy on Sunday.
BrainHurtBoy...2
No spoiling in the spoiler thread? I'm done with the book, so I wanna talk about it. I'll stick to early spoilers for now. You guys think Aegon's the real deal? Or do you think he's not a Targaryen? Or do you think Aegon's a 'mummer's dragon' just in the respect that Viserys was? Also, Aegon's definitely too old to be Jon Snow's twin. Not a bad theory, though. Also when Bran greensees Ned in Winterfell praying, and saying 'Let them grow up like brothers, and let my lady wife forgive...', do you think that lends credence or takes away from R+L=J? This was my second favorite book in the series. After ASoS. Lots of shit happened and the whole book felt very tight. All the Jon chapters were excellent, as well as the Reek chapters. I was very satisfied with this book. The North Remembers!
Chewblaha
I'm such a slow reader. Barely on page 250.
Chewblaha
No spoilers in the sense that someone could be behind others, you two for example, in reading and want to discuss a certain chapter. Sorta like the whole "REACTIONSITHINKTHISWILLHAPPEN." I am fucking ACHING to see what happens to Davos right now (just got to his chapter after Manderly wants onions shoved into his face, but now I have to go to work. I'm happy he's alive. Mal
Man, I want to read this thread but sadly, I'm only on the second book. With me skipping most of the posts in this thread, it at least hear warming to heart that the Dorf is still kicking. Love that guy... then again, I don't know how he changed by this book. Eh, I should be caught up by the next moon... and god damn, I still mourn for Ned. ;_; Now to disappear from this thread for a while. Chewblaha
I'm really fucking slow. Jon isn't dead. I know he isn't. He CAN'T be. He probably is. D: But if he is not dead, and does survive it, all of those fucking stewards are dead. DEAD.
Chewblaha
Oh and I hate Dany. Stupid girl. Too caught up in wanting to fuck some stupid sellsword while fucking remembering a voice and face that only she heard and saw. Worrying about their premonitions and warnings. She's paranoid. Listening to the voices in her head and fearing those words. Just like her father.
Chewblaha
Feelings: Jon, Theon, and Asha chapters were all excellent. 'Cept for that one Theon chapter with the fucking creepy ending. Rest of this book sucked. Random baby out of nowhere is suddenly, SUDDENLY a baby that was carted off? Just thrown in there? Lame. Brienne just walks into a siege and says "come lets go" and that's it? Jon left at some death scene that we probably won't see resolved for another eleven years? Nothing from Oldtown? Nothing from the bogs? The fuck would Osha take Rickon to Skagos for? Only three chapters from Bran? Only like four chapters from Davos? Yet we get like 25 chapters of Dany and Tyrion just doing NOTHING? Most of Tyrion's chapters in the beginning were him going through Pentos. Okay. Most of his middle chapters were him on the boat. Okay. OH SHIT HE SAVES AEGON. Okay. that was.. Oh. He's now on a boat. With JORAH MORMONT? Okay. Oh. He's a slave now. Okay. I see. Oh he's still witty. Oh. Okay. Fuck those chapters. Any chapter that didn't take place in the north in this book was god awful. I don't give a fuck about Dany being a shitty ruler and just fucking sitting there wanting to have sex with everyone and fucking become just as paranoid as her damn father. BrainHurtBoy...2
I liked ADwD, other than the Tyrion chapters. I enjoyed the rest well enough. What do you think happened with Stannis, by the way? If he actually is dead, I'll be very sad. I love Stannis. Him and Hodor are the two characters I would hate having die. No death has every shaken me like Pod's did in AFfC, though. That death made me hate Lady Stoneheart even more than I hated her when she was alive. Chewblaha
I don't think Stannis is dead. Nor do I think Brienne's companions are dead either. I think Ramsay got fucking pissed off when Jeyne and Theon escaped, Mance Rayder told him who he was and what to say and that Jon had sent him there. I think both are trying to lure Jon to Winterfell to get him killed. If he's not dead already.

Faiblesse Des Sens
Chew, I see you care more about events than characters. I loved nearly all of this book. Slow, uneventful (on the game of thrones level) Tyrion chapters included. Though Penny needs to die. I particularly liked Dany's chapters. When you finally gain a throne, it's not easy to maintain a kingdom.
