Luftwaffles
Anyone pick this up in the summer sale? I got it when it was about $3.50, and I'm impressed, but god, with 2 people it is HARD. Either way, it's 1st person tower defense, and surprisingly well done. The guns feel pretty good, and then enemies can get pretty bullet spoungey at the later waves, but often you'd be lucky to get that far. The coop is excellent, and it does have Moonbase Alpha style text to speech, which is always entertaining. I'm usually down for coop if anyone wants to give it a shot. Also, Totalbiscuit likes it. RockyRan
I'm liking it more than I thought I would have. With 2 or more people it's great fun, as single player not so much. My biggest complaint would have to be that the battle part of the game isn't nearly as exciting as it should be. The enemies should most definitely throw projectiles back at you or something, and have the game give you health so that if you die you have to wait for respawn. Probably even make a "first aid" tower to go along with that. As it stands shooting things that never attack back is really odd and a bit anticlaimactic. Why exactly are dangerous aliens not even acknowledging my presence when I'm shooting them?
deanb
Yeah it's pretty neat and enjoyable. Though I think the levels last longer than is comfortable. And yeah the shooting while kinda fun is a bit empty. Just power up your sniper rifle and most of the baddies can be taken out before your turrets even spot them. Luftwaffles
I agree on the shooting for sure but it would be a little odd if health, etc. were to be added, IMO. The simplicity of the combat is really nice, even if the enemies are a bit unresponsive. The variation on the enemies is pretty good, though, and I do like how discombobulated you can get if you run around with them trying to shoot that way. There have been quite a few times where I've just been completely blasted off a map because I decided to jump in with my assault rifle and start shooting. I suppose that is in place to sort of make up for the lack of health mechanic.
