If we're going on past form, it's as likely that someone would do this in a deliberate effort to get banned and therefore get themselves some kudos for being one of the Bioware Oppressed as it is that Bioware deliberately banned someone they knew to be above the minimum age.

As Maritan pointed out, there are plenty of faked bans out there. By the same token there have been some genuinely bad bans too.

Taking this example on its own. I think the ban was justified as the user claimed to be under 13. A quick chat with CS would have seen it overturned.

Someone found a working method that allows the Steam overlay to properly function with TOR, and I can confirm that this does indeed work.

http://www.swtor.com...ead.php?t=94152

Unfortunately, doesn't work for me, it just crashes.

Also, cancelled my sub. It's an awesome and spectacular experience while you go from level 1 to 50, but after that it's just an endless MMO grind loop and when you're alone in a huge game like this high level content is just unreacheable.

I'll return in July when my friend comes from army. He's a huge Star Wars fan like me, so it will be really awesome.

Until then...

It's lost 25% of subs in the past few months. It'll be F2P by the end of the year me thinks.

Finally, they admit it.

Logged in during those free 7 days they gave me in april. Only 3 players on Ilum.

About 70% of the servers are currently light(read "empty").

Expect f2p next year. Hell, maybe even this year.

Looks like you guys may have been a bit generous in your time estimations:

I don't play MMOs, but for MMOs that switch to F2P, or ones that are more recent that are designed to be F2P (after the success of other recent F2P MMOs)... how different are the games? Are things suddenly put behind paywalls that weren't before or all of these companies making money off vanity items?

It generally depends upon the game. It can range from pretty much just vanity items, to a few quests being locked out, only having one character, other limited features, to needing to pay out or be limited to the clothes and quests your dude was born in.

EA's Battlefield stuff has generally suffered from Pay2Win syndrome, so maybe expect that a bit. But for the most part they'll probably just copy Turbine/Cryptic set-up since they've had some of the best results from going Free2Play. (Turbine were one of the first, and their success is what has spurred many others since)

The Sith Inquisitor has some pretty amazing dialogue options. You're able to randomly zap people you disagree with, yawn after every hammy speech given by the enemy, and be really polite about torturing dudes.

Edit: SWTOR is officially free to play. Servers seem to be holding out well so far. Interstingly, the PVE servers are much more popular than the PVP ones, which are about equal to the roleplay servers.

*brushes away cobwebs*

So I'm thinking of giving this game a look. With all this excitement about Star Wars, I'm desperate for something to throw myself into and I don't think Battlefront is it.

Is anyone playing, or has anyone played it since it went F2P and how well is it likely to play as someone looking to play it on my own (for the most part).
