TheRevanchist
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3723107/Lad-of-20-is-killed-by-blood-clot-caused-by-playing-his-Xbox-for-up-to-12-hours-at-a-time.html Looks like sitting and gaming for hours on end can be bad for your health. Too much of any good thing is bad for you, almost. This is a real issue that can affect us all as gamers. I'm not sure that The Sun is a reputable source. However, if the story is true, there is another reason to find good balance between gaming and life. Personally, I don't play enough for this to happen. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that do.
VicariousShaner
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CaptainObvious Really now, having long periods of little to no exercise is bad for you? Next thing I will be hearing is that eating lots of junk food will make you fat!
Hocking
I generally can get in around 4-6 hours a day. However, I don't stay sat down continuously for that amount of time - it may even be spread out across the day rather than in a chunk. It's very rare that I'll stay sat in front of my computer for longer than an hour without getting up. The only times that actually happens is if I'm playing multiplayer with other people and my getting up will disrupt others enjoyment of the activity at hand. Usually I'm playing multiplayer with friends though, so it's not a problem for us to have toilet breaks or some time out to move around. The exception being MMOs and Raiding. I hate doing Raids because others tend to set aside a chuck of time to work on them and expect to go non-stop; which I really hate doing. It's actually what stopped me playing World of Warcraft. Mr W Phallus
I definitely spend far too much time sitting, not so much playing games but reading/watching/browsing. Good thing I've taken up surfing then, although I'm going to have to find some exercise to do at uni.
