Strangelove has no friends.

...like me. Well, mine let me down. One decided to play in single-player and constantly stay one step ahead of me, while the other two went back to WoW. It didn't help that online was terrible when it first came out. Voice chat was terrible, it lagged a fair bit and the quest we were doing just became a big muddle.

I played most online with Tom n Ben. (in same house, but hoorah for those kinda systems. Gamespy is fun ¬_¬)

We played most, though they'd already played it before so I was kinda dragged through it. We played most of the DLC except Moxxies thing kinda burnt us out it was a bit shitty so we didn't get to General Knoxx and Claptrap thing wasn't out then.

It was pretty fun, enemy variation could have done some work, as well as their port skills. I'll keep an eye out.

We better enter the Vault this time.

That ending was horrendous!

I played the entire game in single player. I had two friends that said they wanted to play online, but when I gave them my PSN ID, they never bothered to set a time. I didn't have a roommate at the time, and even then all of my roommates so far haven't been big gamers. Usually have to go next door to talk about games.

EDIT: Added spoiler security! B)

Yeah, if there's more varied enemies that would be nice. A stronger narrative would be nice as well.

Not entering the vault in the first game was a super crappy ending.

Uh, what?

The vault is just a prison to keep the creature in. There is nothing else inside there

It was still a dumb story though.

I love Borderlands, although it's one I keep putting down to avoid cleaning up the main quest without doing all the side missions. Only ever played in Co-Op twice, which was about two months ago now with a friend whom picked it up on the 360 after his PC kicked the bucket and was in need of things to play with other people. At the time though I was a good few levels ahead of him, but he was quite keen on my speeding up his progress to catch up with me.

Never got the opportunity to play more of it in co-op though, as he then went ahead and completed it within two or three days.

:bun-ohmagawd:

Edit; Spoiler'd the spoiler that'd been spoiler'd.

Oh god the end was sooo bad.

Oh in other slightly related news Pitchford is PIISSSSSSEEEEDDDD. Supposedly it was meant to have a big reveal at PAX Prime then on Game Informer, but Eurogamer broke the news the other day forcing Gearbox's hand.

Yes, the world is shocked that they're making a sequel. Also,

I thought there was more in the vault than just the creature.

Oh, maybe I should have spoiler tagged that... Just that, everyone beforehand had already completed the game. There's a little bit more to the ending, trust me, but I'm sure you've already seen everyone else mention its lackluster quality.

While the creature was kept imprisoned in the Vault, there are still other items residing in the Vault. Think of that thing as added security.

As far as I understand it, the idea of the stuff in there was a myth. A misunderstanding that spread. Sure there was alien technology involved in keeping the thing there but it was not actually like a bank vault with goodies inside. It was a prison that was supposed to keep the big tentacle monster thing locked away (and that's how the Guardians wanted to keep it)...but it could be opened every 2,000 years or whatever with a key. Which is why the plot is stupid.

EDIT: Found the wiki on it:

Among other things, I, too, have played Borderlands. I also have a number of complaints, some of which have been said by people here already:

-Ending sucked ass (THEVAULTISALIE)

-Gun designs suck (in my opinion, they looked butt-ugly. Maybe if they used gun designs from Brink or something, that would be nice)

-Lackluster enemies (though the bosses were pretty good)

-Combat, at times, felt tedious

-Monochrome color scheme. If I wanted to stare at a desert, then I'd probably go look at pictures of a desert.

Though after seeing the GI preview on Borderlands 2, it looks like they're going to fix several of them, along with adding some new stuff.

It's every 200 years, and that one scientist lady seemed intent on having the Vault key ready until next time.

200 years or whatever. I assume being a scientist she is just interested in any alien technology and she's not exactly going to be around next time. Point is, you must have read this bit...

'When the Vault is finally opened, the truth of its existence is fully revealed. It was not the technology cache that the legends had spoken of, but a prison containing The Destroyer, an ancient and powerful monstrosity intent on consuming everyone in its path.'

The GOTY is available at Target on clearance for 15 bucks. They had a few copies. Maybe I should pick one up. I had bought it from gamestop a few months back for 20, but returned it after a few hours. Not because it was crap, but because I needed the money.

The game seemed legit, but there really wasnt much to it. Reminded me of grinding in an rpg. Thats the vibe I got from the overall game. Just FPS grindathon. No story, no characters, no nothing. I did like the graphics and the overall art style. if it was 3rd person, Id be all over dat shit.

But I just played it for about 3 hours and maybe the game has a lot more to offer.

Exactly, why if it was just a prison did the other girl promise to keep the key safe until next time? At least I think she did. Also, it's amazing how easily these world destroying super creatures that were only sealed away by an entire civilization are killed by one guy with a gun.
