jimmuhpage
I feel pretty lame for having only played 4 games that came out this year, but in order, I'd say: 1. Mass Effect 2 2. Alan Wake 3. Perfect Dark XBLA 4. Halo: Reach Really want to play RDR, SC: Conviction, FIFA 11, F1 2010, GoW III and 3D Dot Game Heroes, but alas, money. Hot Heart
I still haven't found a used copy of Enslaved yet. I really wanna play it. It's good. Wouldn't consider it GOTY material though.
brida
1. Persona 4 2. Persona 4 3. Persona 4 4. Mass Effect 2 5. Bad Company 2 6.Monday Night Combat
HotChops
For me GOTY has to be Mass Effect 2 or Red Dead Redemption. If I had to choose one, I'd go with Red Dead Redemption for two key reasons: - Characters and story that doesn't make you cringe with embarrassment. There were still a few zany characters, but most were far more down to Earth and realistic compared to previous Rockstar games. I felt like Marston's attempts to reunite and protect his family was a motivation that I could really relate to. Most of all, I love how this game reflects the complex difficulties of life. Most of the characters face dilemmas and situations that are simply beyond their control. - Diverse gameplay. If you have the DLC, Red Dead provides a lot to do and it's all fun: single player, multiplayer, horse racing, poker, zombie slaughtering. Let's face it, ME2 only has two kinds of gameplay: talking to people and shooting people.

I feel like this is an example of the game being more than the sum of its parts. Way more than the sum.
Toshi
This list is missing Final Fantasy XIII. You all know it was one of the best RPG's of all time. OF ALL TIME.

Not to mention that a lot of RDR's stuff felt more like 'diversions'. Rockstar and their affinity for shitty minigames...
Showmeyomoves!
Can I put Monster Hunter Tri on my list? I only found out about it this year. Other than that, nominees would be NFS: Hot Pursuit, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M, and Red Dead Redemption. Possible contenders that I have yet to play: AssCreed: Bros and DKC Returns. Outkastprince
I personally will put down Fable 3 has my Game of the Year. Someone has to! and how come the last two Fable games feel like they ended abruptly? I mean just when you think you're starting to enjoy things, the credits start rolling. There's also that wicked hovercar chase in the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC. I really hope that ME3 has lots of little vehicle minigames like that. I especially hope there's a space battle where you can fly a starship
Yantelope
Tashi be trollin again. Also, my GOTY is Red Dead Redemption. I don't really know what the runner up is anymore. That's the game that just seems heads and shoulders above everything else this year.
Mister Jack
The DLC for Red Dead Redemption probably edges it ever so slightly above Mass Effect 2 for me.
xxnevmorexx
1: Red Dead Redemption 2: Battlefield BC2 3: Halo: Reach 4: Mass Effect 2 5: that one game with the people.
Yantelope
I just felt like tbe main story of Mass Effect 2 was very blah. I liked the game. I really like the direction it's taking RPGs but I never felt emotionally connected to the game at all.

Kainé If I recall correctly Minty, you said you could've played just Chapter Four of Alan Wake and loved it?
mintycrys
That holds true for nearly any chapter, yes, but four was the most fun, even though I'd have to say that five was my favorite because of spoilerific reasons.
Hot Heart
I'm bored and have a few minutes to spare, so here's my top five 1. Mass Effect 2 2. Halo: Reach 3. Just Cause 2 4. Red Dead Redemption 5. Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (even if there are PC troubles, it's a lot of fun. But it could've been higher on the list.)
