toxicitizen
Well at the time I didn't know whether or not you had downloaded them. But I don't see what the big deal is, though. They're tech demos... not products that would be normally sold. I mean, I would not have uploaded the games themselves if it had been possible. deanb
Except they are products being sold. They're part of the bundle. Subversion isn't exactly purely a tech demo either since it is the prototype of the game they've being working on the past few years. It's much the same as the Jack Claw alpha in a previous bundle. It never ended up leading to a full game, but it was still part of the bundle and not just something they were giving away.
toxicitizen
not products that would be normally sold. And even then I'd say they're not even part of the bundle proper, merely additional incentives. There's really not much value in either. Besides, I was just trying to be helpful but eh, whatever. deanb
I get you were trying to be helpful. Just saying, the fact of the matter is they are something sold as part of the bundle not just a case of them posting on twitter "subversion up on Fileplanet, have at it!". And rules are rules., don't take it to heart.
toxicitizen
Hadn't realized it was against forum rules. Wouldn't have done it otherwise.
Connorrrr
Introversion bundle was just updated with Dungeons of Dredmor, which I absolutely LOVE, have put many hours into, and urge you all to go and download!
deanb
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/12/07/good-grief-yet-another-indie-bundle/ And yet another bundle. This one isn't live yet though. It seems a pretty good pack though. I have to say I don't think this whole thick n fast approach to indie bundles is going to be positive in the long run. With HIB it was just something once every few months. But there's been like 3 in the past 2 weeks and this'll be a fourth. It's insane. Surely it devalues the entire indie market?
P4: Gritty Reboot
I was thinking of writing an article on that actually, Dean. Oversaturation can't be good for these kinds of sales.
toxicitizen
I agree, this is getting to the point where there is absolutely nothing special about them anymore. That being said, even though that's probably not how a lot of people look at it, these are less about cheap games and more about raising money for charity. So in that sense, more is good. But still, if things don't slow down a bit, the indie market is definitely going to suffer sooner rather than later.
deanb
A new Indie Royale http://www.indieroyale.com/ I'll ditto my previous remark. In fact saw a couple of RPS writers discussing it on twitter too. They reckon it'll collapse into HIB n Indie Royale.
Faiblesse Des Sens
So... any of those games any good? Dino D-Day seemed like it would be fun for an hour.
Luftwaffles
So... any of those games any good? Dino D-Day seemed like it would be fun for an hour. It really isn't. I got it gifted to me a while back, and felt bad because I only played it for about 30 minutes before deciding it was just not worth it. It has a fairly nonexistant playerbase (like, one or two servers), and is unfortunately rather unbalanced in that nobody ever played the Allied side because they don't get dinosaurs. It does have a really nice art style, though, and some entertaining propaganda posters and newspapers. It's pretty much a $20 sourcemod, though, which is a shame. I want it to be good. deanb
http://www.moddb.com/mods/dino-d-day/ It pretty much is a mod with a price tag. I was in the beta, it is rather dull. Which is a shame cos dinosaurs in WWII could have been a half-decent premise.
Connorrrr
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/12/13/next-humble-bundle-leaks-is-a-goodun/ Super Meat Boy,Bit.Trip Runner, Jamestown, Nightsky and Shank.
deanb
I'll probably grab that for a few quid.
Connorrrr
Definitely worth it. Some REALLY good games there. I already have SMB and Jamestown, and have played Bit.Trip Runner and Shank but I'd still grab it for the sake of steam copies of those games and the possible "above the average" games. toxicitizen
Take this with a grain of salt, but apparently people poking around the steam registry found what might be the content of the Humble Indie Bundle 4. Could easily be a load of crap, but if true I have to say that's a pretty damn good line-up. http://www.diygamer.com/2011/12/humble-bundle-bundles-leak/

Battra92
I owned Jamestown already but bought this just for the Mac version. Shit, it runs great on my 1st Gen Core 2 Duo Macbook (that's 5 years and 3 months old!)
