Chewblaha
So I clicked MultiPlatform looking for the Bastion thread. There is none. What the fuck is wrong with you all? THIS GAME IS FUCKING AMAZING? IT HAS NO THREAD YET? I WAS GONE FOR ALL THIS TIME AND THERE WAS NO BASTION THREAD MADE? AHHHHHH! Buy this fucking masterpiece. Made by seven people and one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had in my life. Bought the soundtrack also. This game is worth every single penny. Cyber Rat
It's on my to-get list. I want to go into it with as little info as possible, actually.
Vargras
Deus Ex. Sorry. Space Marine soon too.
Luftwaffles
It's on my "to buy once financial aid gets in list" right after Deus Ex, honestly. But because it'll download faster I'll probably just end up playing it a lot while Deus Ex downloads. I tried the demo and that pretty much sold it to me. Mal
At least I bought it already so its queued up!
Johnny
Bastion is amazing. Anyone that likes hack-and-slash top-down style fares should pick it up. Great art style, good controls, nice selection of weapons (lots of choice in how to kill things) Extremely major spoilers below: I REALLY did not see the two choices at the end coming. I chose to save Zulf and to fly away instead of resetting the timeline.
Hot Heart
I saw someone had said it was made by slightly more than seven people (only two more though, I think) according to some credits on Giant Bomb, if I recall. I do want to get this but, yeah, I have other games to get through first so there's no point buying it now.
Chewblaha
FORGET ABOUT YOUR LOW FUNDS. THIS GAME DESERVES TO BE BOUGHT WITH LOW FUNDS! It's THAT good, people.
Hot Heart
There is nothing wrong with my funds. Just need to be able to buy time.
Chewblaha
But you'll love it so much that you'll beat it once, and then again right afterwards! Trust me! It's THAT good, people. Especially since you can ramp up the difficulty completely with your second playthrough.
Waldorf and Statler
I would go back and do the new game+ for Bastion, but unfortunately I beat it in a different 360 [with my account] so the save didn't carry over. And I'm not about to start from zero anytime soon. Great game though, the music and voice acting was awe-inspiring.
Saturnine Tenshi
I really, really don't like the narrator. Does it get any less hack 'n' slash?
Zambot
I really, really don't like the narrator. Does it get any less hack 'n' slash? It doesn't, really. If you adjust the difficult way up with idols, some strategy is advised. Otherwise, it largely remains a hack/slash. I'm also going to echo the other sentiment in the quote - I really didn't like the "adaptive narration" or whatever it is they referred to it as. Primarily because I don't require (or really appreciate) a narrator telling me what I just did, but also because I really don't care for this specific narrator to begin with. It just felt... way too forced.
Chewblaha
Bumping, because I know a lot of you bought Bastion when it was on sale, right? RIGHT?
Hot Heart
I did, and have been enjoying it. War Machete and Scrap Musket are my favourite combo right now. "Kid destroyed everything with that newfound musket". He sure did.
Kovach_
Got the game this morning, let's see what i got. Don't like the narrator, don't like the Kid being voiceless (not counting the NGH, ARGH and the like). I have to admit i kinda expected more than just another hack 'n' slash, but that part is done right, so i can't complain too much i guess. Loving the art and the music. So all in all, pretty "OK" for now. Definitely worth the 7€ i paid for it, not sure if i'd say the same if it were at full price.
Saturnine Tenshi
It's a decent game. I'm enjoying it. I'm damn relieved I wasn't sucked in by the hype, though.
SomTervo
The narrator gets better as the story gets better. Also, I gave this one a good review on PXoD. Really good game, if it seems a bit basic or bland at first, believe me it really picks up in the last 3rd. The middle 3rd is a little slow (but I probably just felt that way because I did it almost in one sitting so it felt briefly repetetive.) Chewblaha
I did, and have been enjoying it. War Machete and Scrap Musket are my favourite combo right now. "Kid destroyed everything with that newfound musket". He sure did. If you end up playing all idols on, most of the weapons you find near the beginning become straight up worthless. Pike/Musket is the best combo to use for all idols on, or the final weapon if you wanna be a cheapass. Carbine works well too, but reload is a pain. Hot Heart
Yeah, shortly after saying that, I picked up the Pike. Fulfills a similar role to the Machete for me (melee and able to throw it, basically) but with a longer range. The one thing I dislike is how they have the attack buttons set up. I was glad you could assign weapons to whichever of the two buttons you prefer, but picking up new weapons automatically assumes firearms for the X button and others for B, which is backwards to how I wanted it. So when I found the Carbine I had that and a Musket for a short while. It was a right pain against Lunkheads (managed to trick one into jumping off the edge though). You can push lunkheads and super annoying creatures off the edge with the musket, hence its value in all-idols on.
Hot Heart
At the time I had it specced for damage rather than (major) knockback, I think. Just completed it. Wonderful game.
CrowKnow
GDC Talk about the Bastion's Audio. Even if you kinda glaze over the technical details there's some pretty great anecdotes tucked in there. http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/175296/Video_Creating_the_audio_for_Bastion.php

Didn't realise it was out on iOS.
Mister Jack
I downloaded the iOS version when it was on sale for 99 cents. It holds up surprisingly well if you use the virtual controls.
