Mister Jack
I bought P3P as my first ever Persona game just to have something to play on my vita besides uncharted. It might be my favorite PSP game ever now, though. As for P4, does anyone get a strong Silent Hill 2 vibe from it? Not in the gameplay if course, but the themes. Strangelove
I cant say Im a fan of the motion blur when the characters move.
Mister Jack
Huh. I've heard all these horror stories about how Shadow Yukiko is an absolutely brutal boss early on in the game who had players throwing their controllers, but I only needed two tries to beat her. In fact, the only reason I lost the first time was because I went in with only half health/SP just because I figured I might as well find out her attacks and weaknesses. Either Atlus rebalanced that boss or the various grinding and persona fusing I did beforehand made me better prepared for her.
Mister Jack
Okay this game has WAY better social links than Persona 3. I haven't gotten all of them yet so maybe there's a few bitches and assholes I don't know about, but so far I haven't come across anyone that I loathe the way I loathe at least a good third of the links in P3. UnstableArk
Oh that localization team... For those not in on the joke, check out the Hiimdaisy spoof comic when you're finished with the game. I say that because it has quite a bit of spoiler material. Be warned. TheMightyEthan
God that art is beautiful. I'm a sucker for hand-drawn stuff. My wife thinks I'm retarded because I keep commenting on how gorgeous Scribblenauts Unlimited is.
Mister Jack
Yeah. I know this is basically an HD remake of a PS2 game but it still looks pretty damn nice on the vita.
Mister Jack
Welp I finally beat P4: The Golden with the true ending after a whopping 75 hours. That was one damn fulfilling game. Now on to new game plus!
TheMightyEthan
I'm 5.5 hours into P3P. I must just not have been in the right mood when I tried FES, because I quit that right after the first battle (not because of the battle system, but because all the exposition had bored the crap out of me), but I'm really liking P3P now. Mister Jack
I never actually played P3 on the ps2 and it might be a good thing I didn't, because the teammate AI might have put me off the series entirely since there wasn't a direct control option back then. FMW
I am going to be a crotchety old man here and say: I definitely prefer Persona without taking control of your party members. Battles run a lot faster with the AI spitting out 3/4 of your party's attacks and the fact that you aren't calling the shots does a lot to prevent that old JRPG issue of running into the exact same encounter and defeating it with the exact same sequence of attacks over and over again. And yeah, it makes the game a little tougher sometimes, but I can deal with that. I'm not opposed to having a wrench thrown into my plans every so often. Even though Persona 4 offered full party control I made a point to keep it turned off except for two of the boss battles where I got hung up pretty bad. So I'm glad they have the option, but surely I'm not the only person to see the merits in a more hands off approach to party management? Mister Jack
I usually had the AI on except during boss battles and special circumstances.
Mister Jack
Started playing P4 Arena today. They cram a lot of complexity into a deceptively simple looking control scheme.
Strangelove
The dating system in P4G is severely disappointing after having played Bioware games. After you start a relationship with a person, especially one thats in your party, there is absolutely no mention of that relationship throughout the rest of the game. If anything, there are a lot of inconsistencies. Its just completely meaningless.
Mister Jack
Well, it DOES get mentions depending on what you do but it doesn't really affect the main story. The benefit of getting a girlfriend is more for persona upgrades than story. I still enjoy some of the romance events. Say, does P4 Arena have a separate thread or does stuff related to that game just get posted here too?

Waldorf and Statler
I'm assuming that like with the P4 anime he ain't getting any pussy to not imply one is canon. Also seeing how it's a movie I'm gonna assume one needs to be familiar with the story, so bringing in newcomers might be a no go. Also obligatory "where's my p5"
Mister Jack
I don't care what the anime says. Yuu x Chie 4 life.
Waldorf and Statler
Chie? Sure you can like her. If you want to live in a non-canon fantasy world. We all know who the real love interest was. I'll give you a hint.
Mister Jack
Naoto is supposed to be with Kanji, damn it! How do you not see this?! I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL KILL YOU!
Waldorf and Statler
Naoto didn't have the slightest interest in Kanji, she was all about senpai YOU SHUT YOUR FUCKING FACE
Mister Jack
They're destined to be together! UnstableArk
Been hittin' them fanfics there, fellas? As for the P3 movie, I think it's something like 4 movies. It might be enough to go in without knowing the source. Wouldn't hurt, though. And I know I'm in the minority here, but overall, I felt P3 had the superior story. P3 story, P4 everything else. And c'mon, NaotoxKanji would be so cute together.
Waldorf and Statler
There's cute and there's canon. For that matter Chie x Yosuke was cute too. Every female character had a side character they could have worked it out with. And by 4 movies what do you mean? You mean there will be 4 films? Cause I highly doubt it's the length of 4 films.
