Vecha
They did the same thing last gen.Ps3 came out....Persona 4 came out TWO years later on the ps2(of course later on the vita...).I honestly didn't expect them to move to the ps4.This is why I ALWAYS keep my last gen systems. Things like this happen, a great game(though sometimes niche) comes out for the last system(s).But on more topic... IT'S HAPPENING!
Vecha
Also, Persona Q was announced for you 3ds owners who no longer have a ps3. Edited November 24, 2013 by Vecha

Vecha
But more importantly! What the fuck did I just watch? DDR...without the actual dancing? You just press the buttons on your controller? I love Persona 3/4..still need to beat 4 though(and I do LOVE the music)....but that looks like it should go straight to the PSN. But I'm sure there are enough rabbid fans who'll want it just to see the characters again...I guess. I also didn't get into P4A nor plan to get into that new Persona fighting game. I'll stick with my Social Sim/Rpgs thankyouverymuch.
toxicitizen
It's a Vita game. Looks quite similar to Elite Beat Agents and that game was a ton of fun on DS. At least, considering I only paid about 10 bucks for it I was satisfied with what I got. I've actually been toying with the idea of getting a handheld next month. I'll have quite a bit of extra cash and I figured getting a new system would be more fun than just blowing it all on the Steam holiday sale. While I'm still not sure if I should go with Vita or 3DS, if I do get a Vita this one will definitely be on my radar.
Waldorf and Statler
I'm excited for the 3DS game. I'll for sure be getting that. As for P5. What the fuck this sucks. It's awesome but I don't know if I'll know anybody with a PS3 by the time it comes out.

I wouldn't mind shipping you mine...after I finish beating it of course..lol I'll just need twenty forms of an ID. A daily skype call with assurance the console is Ok. And the promise that I'll receive your first born child if anything should happen to the console.

Waldorf and Statler
I didn't have one to begin with, but at this point I'm pretty sure my friend is gonna keep his PS3. I've already told him that if he ever feels like selling it later on in 2014 that I'd buy it from him. At that point I could easily buy it from him for 60 bucks or so. It's not even the phat with the ps2 backwards compatibility.
TCP
I'm excited for the 3DS game. I'll for sure be getting that. As for P5. What the fuck this sucks. It's awesome but I don't know if I'll know anybody with a PS3 by the time it comes out. Persona 4 came out in 2009, three years after the PS3 came out. This isn't surprising. Japanese companies move slowly I was wondering about that. They seem to love porting all their games to handhelds but could the Vita actually handle a proper PS3 game? I mean, there's Disgaea 3 (and an upcoming port of 4, I think?) but those are sprite games and 3 wasn't even HD. Besides, if there's any game worth keeping a PS3 around for, it's definitely Persona. I'm actually really glad it's not PS4. Not really planning on getting one for a good while. Well, the Persona 3, which was a PS2 game, was ported to the PSP. I'm sure they can port the Persona 5 to the PS Vita, but they might have to strip down the visuals like in P3P.
Strangelove
I hope they finally dropp the more kiddish/cartoony look of the characters when theyre fighting and keep their actual artwork look. Im imaging it to look graphically and visually as awesome as Catherine looked. Its the same art style.
Waldorf and Statler
P4 did come out when P3 was out for a while. But I'm hoping that since the jump from PS3 to PS4 isn't as huge as PS2 to PS3, especially with coding not being impossible, that this means we'll see a PS4 port. Even if Gaikai or Sega hiring a separate team. Sony really needs to pay for a PS4 port.
toxicitizen
Well, the Persona 3, which was a PS2 game, was ported to the PSP. I'm sure they can port the Persona 5 to the PS Vita, but they might have to strip down the visuals like in P3P. Honestly, if that's the case then I'd rather they didn't even bother. The way you only control a cursor in the non-dungeon crawling sections of P3P just puts me off that version of the game entirely. I'd rather stick to the superior FES version. It'd be nice if they did a proper Vita port of FES, though. Something like The Golden buut with the extra chapter included this time. Doubt it'll happen, though.
Mister Jack
I don't think they even want to do that again. They said the only reason they did P4G was because they could add features, not remove them. Edited November 24, 2013 by Mister Jack
Saturnine Tenshi
superior FES version Ho ho ho! So right. I'd already planned on keeping my PS3 anyway. No reason to get rid of it when some of the most polished RPGs for PS2 were released after the PS3 was released. It takes time for smaller companies to catch up with newer consoles. Waldorf and Statler
apparently 7-8 years time.
toxicitizen
Welp, I dug up my PS2 copy of Persona 3 FES tonight and fired it up for the first time in like two years. Played for a few hours, fun was had. Hopefully I can finish it this time. It's kinda weird going back to it after so long. I'm very much in the last stretch of the story and getting all these big reveals (some of which I've had spoiled by now) but they don't mean much because I remember fuck all of the story. If it were any other game, I'd start over from the beginning. But I'm 70 fucking hours into it. I don't have time to redo all that shit. And, honestly, at this point I'd much rather play Persona 4. So I'll just finish it and move on, I think. Only got 2 weeks of classes left before finals, too. So, once christmas vacations start I'll have plenty of free time. And if I do get a Vita next month, I'll definitely be grabbing P4 Golden along with it.

FMW
Well the title says Persona 5, but the content says The World Ends With You. Stop me if this is familiar: Japanese introverted male teen with questionable fashion sense stands in the middle of scramble crossing in Shibuya. Nobody seems to be able to see him, he is alone despite being in the crowd. He is forced to do battle with a supernatural bad guy/demon thing. But, I mean, The World Ends With You was pretty good! So maybe this will be too? That mock turtleneck.... thing though. That's a problem. That's bad. Real bad.
TheMightyEthan
Is there plot continuity between Persona games?
toxicitizen
Only in the spin-offs like the fighting games, where the casts of P3 and P4 meet. Otherwise, P3 and P4 have completely separate, self-contained stories. I expect P5 to be no different in that regard,
Strangelove
Hopefully they've been working on this since 2008 or 2009. So all the personas won't be rehashed from the ps2 era. I also hope to Jesus the game at least looks like Catherine graphically. I'd be happy enough with that. I'm afraid we'll get a ps2 game in higher resolution.
