@Ethan: Have you played already? It's one of those annoying games that dumps you in a tutorial before throwing the menu at you which I hate :/

I'm gonna plug my 360 pad in and play about with that for a bit, see which I like the feel of more.

 

@Brain: I'm on now. Getting a feel for it. I'm going to be pulling an all-nighter.

Also, has everybody else been having trouble getting into games? Last night I was only able to get into 3, and 2 were lagging so bad that they didn't even really count.

The one game I was able to actually get into and play, the mission timer was 1 hour. Is that normal in the PC games? On the 360 it's 15 minutes.

 

I just wanted to know whether they were all like that or the server I was on had a custom time setting.

I think he was saying if you were looking for a game, there would probably be people playing in there.

 

Also, yeah, I played on a 100 > ping server last night and the lag was ridiculous.

 

Gave up and played the single player a little bit to get used to the game (haven't played it on 360).

I've being posting in the general MNC thread; The beta is actually at the moment P2P which explains the huge lag.

Buuut they're running the game as if it was on Dedis. Which means they've got all the bad points of P2P but none of the benefits. I hope they get some Dedi's up ASAP or this game will be unplayable. I can only enjoy SP so much.

Or/And they include matchmaking so folks could at least join up with friends. There's quite a few embarrassingly amateur mistakes and issues in MNC PC.

I enjoyed seeing the few balance changes in that patch, namely increased rail gun clip size and reduced amount of juice from Tanks deploying in front of LazerBlazers.

 

Looks like we console-side folks'll probably be on the ass end of those changes soon enough, if we aren't already...

 

Also, this gave me pause:

 

Awesome! This gives me high hopes! Once the engine is running 100% and it's a 100% "PC game" if you will, hopefully they will focusing on balancing for us PC users, since we're more used to the tactical side of things, not invisible units running up and 1 hitting us

 

Oh dear.
