Mercurial
http://www.siliconer...details-inside/ So it's basically The Thing which isn't bad and may actually be fucking awesome. So you people with claustrophobia might be able to play! They did make a mistake though Ellie is from the second game.
Pirandello
I actually played The Thing and thought it was pretty freaking awesome. If they do follow the frozen-wasteland-with-facilities-in-between route, I'll be a happy man. I just hope they'll actually do something about the low-visibility open world as a method to get enemies to attack you, because when I played The Thing, it almost never happened (but it totally set itself up for it). Also, I bet the monsters in this game were spawned by the grand-daddy of all Markers or something like that; something advanced enough to warrant a "hive mind"-like existence. Mercurial
They've always been a hive mind, but it probably is a huge marker though to fuck up an entire planet cause the black marker only fucked a facility on earth.
Connorrrr
Interesting. Dead Space 2 was pretty awesome (Though I've still not finished it) so I'll most likely play this at some point. I'd be interested to see how exploring a world as opposed to a ship which is claustrophobic as you said.
TheMightyEthan
I just hope they'll actually do something about the low-visibility open world as a method to get enemies to attack you, because when I played The Thing, it almost never happened (but it totally set itself up for it). See, I like it better when things like that are more sporadic. If it happens every time then you know it's going to happen and while you may not want to deal with it it won't create the same sense of foreboding that you have if it only might happen. Conversely, if it doesn't happen enough then you don't get the foreboding either because you feel like you're probably safe. I haven't played Dead Space 2, but DS1 was certainly very good at finding the happy medium where just when you start to feel safe in a certain area they have monsters attack you and destroy that sense of safety. toxicitizen
You know, I wouldn't mind if they mixed things up a bit for Dead Space 3. I love the series and want it to continue but I would hate for it to start feeling stale. Like, say, Resident Evil, which I still love but only because it was a staple of my teenage years. Also, shouldn't this be in multi-platform games?
TheMightyEthan
Yes, yes it should.
Strangelove
It seems kind of logical if you think about it. Im sure at some point youll end up in a ship or facility and itll get all DS1 again, but I think having it in such a different setting is a great idea.
