GaiKai: Has anyone given it a go yet?

I forgot all about this until recently, but I haven't had any luck getting anything to run yet. I'm not sure why, possibly a region thing.

But anyway, it's interesting. It may even be a way that companies can combat piracy by offering free demos to all. Plus, it being Browser based makes it pretty much accessible to everyone...besides me right now...

I may have given it a spin....

They're expanding quite well but their library is starting to be a bit lacking at this point. They've only added like 3 extra games since launch and only one isn't an EA title. Also I think they've only got Escapist on board right now, or at least that's the only site they've trumpeted about. Going as an advertising scheme should certainly help them. It's probably a bit more costly to run than a trailer, but the conversion rate is probably higher.

It won't completely stop piracy (unless there's native demos too, or a game clearly low-end e.g spore/Sims) but it could certainly help.

Oh and at the bottom they have a map in case you're curious if you can get it: http://www.gaikai.com/services (Hmm, has Capcom n EG down as partners too)
