TheMightyEthan
But there's no reason you can't have deeper games on a smartphone, and I think that's where we'll head for the most part. Games will continue to get better on phones and as a result fewer people will buy a dedicated handheld game system and the market for that will shrink. I don't think that will hurt anyone but system manufacturers though, as the game makers can just start releasing their games on the phones. Strangelove
Yup. You can get gta Chinatown wars and final fantasy 4 and final fantasy tactics on the iphone. Not to mention the new gta3 remake. Those are all pretty story heavy.
CorgiShinobi
True, and recently I had a friend who showed me some MMORPG on Android. I wasn't truly interested though... After all, while there's the potential for deeper experiences, I'm not fond of draining my battery life for a phone as I am a dedicated gaming handheld device. Other than that, the perception of gaming on mobile phones would have to change to something similar to Japan. If I may assume, the impression I get about US consumers with smartphones is that they're more obsessed with various Apps than various mobile games. deanb
I think the perception is changing. Just a few "core" gamers stuck in their ways of it all been Snake and N-Gage.
