Faiblesse Des Sens
Well with the Wii U it's required whereas on PS4 it would be purely optional whereas the only requirement is that the game plays on the Vita and not that it supplements anything. TheMightyEthan
Remote play, as it currently works, means nothing to me. I live alone right now, but when I move in with my girlfriend we'll have two TVs and countless other entertainment screens. I'm surprised at the number of adults who have a single TV and want to stream games to their handheld devices. Now, if the stream were reliable outside of a local network, I'd be mighty interested. Too bad that's not gonna happen any time soon. Who says it's a matter of a single TV? You might want to play on the couch next to someone just so you can hang out with them, or in bed, or anywhere else you wouldn't want to sit down in front of a TV. Definitely that. I like to be able to play a game out in the living room with my wife without hogging the TV. Sure I could go into my "office" to play the game, but then I wouldn't be out with my wife. Mr. GOH!
Huh. They way it's worked with me is that she uses an iPad or laptop to watch while I use the screen to play, if we're having together screen time and I wanna play 360 or PS3. Generally, though, unless we're doing the same thing (watching the same screen), we're both too absorbed for whether we're sitting next to each other or in separate, but adjacent, rooms. Neither of us really channel surf disinterestedly; we're either WATCHING the show or not. I'm sure this is different for every couple. Waldorf and Statler
Unless Persona 5 is released in either the PS3 or the Vita I have no plan to get either console. I'm hoping it's released on the PS4 or 3DS but chances are slim. Still planning on buying the PS4 eventually though.
Mister Jack
http://m.tech2.com/news/console/sony-officially-states-that-playstation-4-will-not-have-drm-against-used-games/875088
Waldorf and Statler
To summarize the above link: Sony won't require any form of used game DRM from their part nor registration nor anything like MS is doing. But they left the option open to developers to do what they wanted with their games. That means a game disc is a game disc unlike MS which it's an install disc.
Thursday Next
Which is pretty much the status quo. Nothing to stop someone like EA locking out all content behind a pass of some sort rather than just the online stuff.
Strangelove
EA recently said theyre dropping online passes. If EA is doing it, I cant imagine anyone else doing it either. Despite how much people hate them, other companies want the money they make, so they will copy what they do.
TheMightyEthan
EA also retroactively removed online passes from (all of?) their games, which is actually really cool. Probably irritated a few people who'd just bought a pass the day before though.
TCP
People who buy online passes are suckers anyways. Though it's good to hear EA retroactively removed them. Now we can play these games online!!! ...till the servers get shut off next week cause it's EA
Thursday Next
I think you missed the point. All I'm saying is PS4 DRM is the same as PS3 DRM based on that. Publishers can lock out content if they want, or not. Xbone, looks like publishers don't have that choice.
TheMightyEthan
I got that, just also went off on a tangent from it.

TCP
Oh man what a win for Sony if the PS4 was 50 bones less.
Waldorf and Statler
How is the xbox one more expensive if the hardware itself is supposedly worst? The Kinect is all I can think of. Unless the console is made out of better materials.
Mister Jack
It's gotta be the kinect.
TheFlyingGerbil
doesn't the ps4 come with the new ps eye thing, or is that optional?
Mister Jack
I believe it's sold separately, or at least there will be a SKU without one.
TheMightyEthan
Even if it is included the Kinect has all that IR gear that the new Eye doesn't have, which would probably make it more expensive. Also it's my understanding that Kinect has a bunch of processing built into it, while the Eye is basically just two webcams. I could be wrong about that though. Waldorf and Statler
I don't care if the Kinect is more technically spectacular, I'd never use it. Also it's hilarious the freaking camera called the Eye isn't the one that will be spying on you while you game. Always watching.
Mister Jack
Well think of it like this: you'll always be kinect-ed to homeland security.
TheMightyEthan
I agree wholeheartedly, Wally, I was just offering a thought as to why the Xbone might be more expensive.
Waldorf and Statler
I know no worries, the "I don't care" was meant more as a general statement.
