Playstation 4

Day Z is coming to ps4 but probably not the Xbone because of the patch fees and inability to self publish.

Wow...that's pretty sweet.

I know it is probably sacrilege...but I may make the ps4 my MMO home instead of my PC(Sorry Master Race. Wife won't be too keen in having my monstrous Tower in the living room).

Get a new wife, Vecha; she's clearly not a keeper.

Or just get a TV for your PC gaming.

Or...I'll get a small, sleek ps4 for the living room...and continue to upgrade my gaming pc for the few games I may play on it.

I got one of these out back.

So fuck limited choices!

Of course then again some might not care like World of Tanks is behind a paywall on the 360.

Is that the dev or MS though? I was under the impression that except for free trial weekends MS doesn't allow any kind of multiplayer for non-Gold.

It's both technically. The reason why FF14 won't be on MS systems is because they refused to put the game behind the paywall. There have been plenty of games that didn't go on the 360 because of the paywall. They were discussing Eve at some point and we all know how loaded most of those players are. World of Tanks got a decent cheque from MS and honestly they didn't care for it too much so it's there behind the paywall. Like I said, it's both parties. MS might have a policy but if you don't like it you don't have to play ball especially if you have a product with a decent subscriber base. I mean for instance BBC iPlayer isn't behind the paywall, might not be a game but it's an example.

You know, in direct contrast to Microsoft's completely incompetent PR lately, Sony has been really on the ball, even when they have bad news.  The only real bad news of their night at E3 was that you have to pay for multiplayer now, but they were direct, honest, and they are explaining why they have to do it in clear terms.

Being honest always does wonders. There's also the other thing, they aren't talking down to the consumers and trying to be well 'just one of you guys' - that attitude resonates well with people no matter what you do (Of course until you royally fuck up!).

Perhaps US and UK. Mainland Europe seems to miss out on some stuff. But UK is pretty well served imho.

Maybe for some, but the Rock Band DLC was always delayed and sometimes priced incorrectly; now it no longer gets Rock Band Network releases. I even redeemed a code for free tracks that came with Rock Band 2 and it instead downloaded another DLC bundle I never even wanted.

Not to mention the general missing releases that other regions had. Plus, at least MS made sure XBLA games always had a trial version. There's much more parity when it comes to XBL, and it all adds up to a better service.

Sony is doing fantastically. Microsoft right now is trying to be the company PR 'ha ha we love our gamers, trust us!' while Sony is down to earth and telling us realistically what is going on. Which boils down to them wanting to them being truthful about needing to make money and promising the value of plus will only grow.
