Mister Jack
I know they're doing cross game chat now but have they said if it's just private chat or if there is a party system in place?
Faiblesse Des Sens
Much like everything else I don't think they've gone into detail.
CorgiShinobi
Like how the Wii U looks like a fucking VHS rewinder. Oh gawd, inadvertant flashback to how that was a thing.
TCP
I had to google what a VHS rewinder looked like.
WTF
It's an actual PS4, they were surprised that Adam Boyes brought it to the conference. It's really light.
Waldorf and Statler
When Adam brought they brought Flava Flav who proceeded to say "Yeah Boyeeeeeeeeeeeees!"
WTF
So apparently for up ports and such there will be a discount on the PS4 version of the game if you've already bought the PS3 or vita vesion. Sounds like they also plan to take crossbuy to the next generation so we might see a good price. I mean they are good about prices for their titles on the store. I saw the last of us on PSN for £39.99 which is a decent price in all honesty for a digital copy. Also if you're in the US I've heard that Beyond:2 Souls is $39.99 on the Sony store which is a good price. Only US though.

WTF
https://www.facebook.com/pinballarcade/posts/586266621394402 take note of the following: In more good news, Sony has announced a Cross Discount feature for the PS4. This will allow us to offer customers who have previously purchased Pinball Arcade content on other Sony platforms a discount when they buy that content on PS4.

Mal
At this point, can they start putting the manual in a USB stick? A small one will work to keep cost down. Its there if I want it and its space saving.
deanb
It's likely more a EULA/TOS or whatever legal guff is required than manual (which they don't need on a USB, PS3 comes with it built into the XMB).

TheMightyEthan
Would a USB stick really be cheaper than a shitty booklet? It'd be smaller, yes, but it's not like a 5mm thick booklet is really a space hog to begin with.
Faiblesse Des Sens
It could be that it adds too much weight and size to ship. Plus, no one reads the fucking things anyways.

Faiblesse Des Sens
USB sticks are not without weight... ...did I say or imply they weren't? I even said "too much" which would mean that whatever it is "too much" more than has some weight.
TheFlyingGerbil
Box contents. Is there a power brick or is it built in like the PS3 as there seems to be half the power cable missing from the photo. I'll be so glad to get rid of the mini USB of the PS3 controller, it's the only thing in my house that uses that connection and I hate having to keep a cable around for it, not to mention I usually try and plug a micro USB cable in it first out of habit. TheMightyEthan
The topmost cord looks just like the PS3 power cord, so I would guess the PSU is internal.

The implication of a few page thick manual adding to the weight of the shipping that a USB stick wouldn't. Also they're getting rid of mini-USB? That kinda sucks. It's a bit tougher than micro-USB, but I guess it does mean can use phone chargers.
CorgiShinobi
It's the same as the latest redesign for the PS3. The PS3 use to have a standard PC power cord, but Sony switched over to the two-prong cord (whatever it may be called) for the "Super Slim." I don't know if this means the PS4 is more energy efficient, or if the console itself will be underpowered for cost efficiency. Considering the amount of ventilation on the box, it shouldn't be such a problem in terms of cooling/heat.
Faiblesse Des Sens
When I think manual I think of something more than a few pages thick. The PS3 manual wasn't just a few pages.
