TheMightyEthan
That was my thought, but that's not a PS4 exclusive.
UnstableArk
No, that was definitely FF15. I think they just clipped together games from e3 for the video, not necessarily exclusives. Pretty certain Mirror's Edge 2 won't be exclusive, but that was shown as well. Clip in question around the 3:11 mark. TheFlyingGerbil
thanks, guys. I thought It looked like FF hair, but I only had FF14 in my head and the clip didn't look very MMO-y. I'd forgotten about 15.
Waldorf and Statler
All of this stuff is amazing but my number one concern right now is: games. And good games won't stop coming out for the PS3/360 until well into the end of 2013/early 2014. No need to rush. At all. I'll wait until either early 2014 or when the first next-gen title comes out that isn't available in this gen's consoles. PC I don't care for as my laptop couldn't handle it. TheMightyEthan
Games aren't going to stop coming out for current gen until at least late 2014. Unless you mean first-party. I mean, there will be next-gen exclusives before that, but good stuff will continue to come out on current-gen for a while.
Waldorf and Statler
Well yeah first-party is a concern. For Microsoft they've basically stopped first party already, and Sony's last big first party title might be Beyond: Two Souls before the rest/exclusives start chugging out for PS4. I'm not saying that I'll wait until every third party developer completely stops supporting the PS3/360. I meant that I'll wait until the first big blockbuster title comes out for PS4 and it's at least 2014. Right now the titles coming out are forgettable or available somewhere else, but Dragon Age could hit 2014. That's a title worth getting a PS4 for me. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, the first title I know about to make me want either console is Destiny. *Edit* - Of course, I game on PC, so for me it needs to not just be next-gen exclusive but also be console exclusive, which is what Destiny is. Mister Jack
I dunno, I'm getting it at launch and I'll have plenty to play. Killzone, Battlefield, Planetside, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed, and Warframe are all launch games I'm interested in. Now, I realize only one of those is exclusive to the PS4, but my PC has neither the hard drive space nor the GPU to handle next gen games, so for BF4 and Planetside 2 my PC just isn't an option. Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed are cross-generation titles, but I expect some kind of enhancements for the next-gen versions. I guess if you have a really good PC then the PS4 doesn't have that much to tempt you right now, but mine is just a mid-range device catered to current gen (last gen?) games. Waldorf and Statler
Even if I get a PS4, KIllzone has never interested me. I think I've stated enough times how I feel over military shooters so BF4 does nothing for me as well. But yeah Ethan you reminded me of Destiny. That'd be the first title worth getting, then playing the third party helpings until Origins, then hopefully around that time is when many games start coming out for PS4. Right now the only thing keeping me doubtful is Persona 5, but that'll most likely be PS3.
CorgiShinobi
PS4, lighter and runs cooler than the PS3. At least for now, that's what we know. I don't know the probability of the console having some hellfire moment where the temp spikes dramatically, but I think Sony may have learned from the flaws of the PS3. Faiblesse Des Sens
Ready already tore that apart though the article you linked doesn't make any of those claims.
CorgiShinobi
In the document, the product specification shows the PS4 is 2.8kg, whereas the original PS3 was around 5kg. Operating Temperature is shown as "5-35 deg. C" where others have interpreted it as the PS4's highest temperature readout. Of course, that's ridiculous because that's 95 degrees Fahrenheit. The internal temperature is going to be well over that, but again that's interpreted as "it's designed to run cooler." All we know for sure is that it is actually lightweight. EDIT: To clarify, that "5-35 Celsius" stuff really is just your recommended room temperature range for operating most electronic devices. You wouldn't want to place your Nintendo Wii U on an oven or the Xbox One on a frozen lake. Edited July 24, 2013 by Atomsk88
FredEffinChopin
I know it's 2 days old, but I'm curious about this 2k-long friends list on the PS4. Since it's one PSN, I'd assume that the list would apply to all Playstation consoles, but I also assumed that they kept the list short so as not to keep the current consoles busy beyond reason. I know, lots of assuming going on here.
Waldorf and Statler
I'll have maybe 20 people max. I don't add strangers. I'll add class friends, maybe a cousin or two, and whoever wants to add me in this forum

Mister Jack
That's cool and all, but nobody on the planet has 2000 friends. Anybody who actually fills up that entire list has some real problems.
TheFlyingGerbil
people have that many Facebook friends, so it's only a matter of time before people start hitting up against that limit. 2000 people's updates streaming past you on your home screen (what's the official name for that?) would be a nightmare, can you imagine it on launch day for a big game? I wonder if you can prioritise "best friends" as there's probably people who you're going to be keener to see updates on than others. Waldorf and Statler
I deleted all the people i dont consider close enough acquaintances/friends/family and ended with 100 or so. I gotta do some clean-up pretty soon since I'm at 150 and I know for a fact some people i gotta get rid of.

Most people can't even psychologically know that many people. Keep in mind the current limit for both is 100 (and that's after original XBL got shut down with implied promise of an expansion)
CorgiShinobi
Current Friends List is 100*, but yeah a human being can only maintain around 150 social acquaintances. Generally speaking, the way the Friends List is designed is that it not only includes actual friends, but you're given the ability to befriend strangers online after multiplayer matches through (I believe it's called) "Players Met." Honestly I think it rare to actually meet decent "friends" through matches, but it does happen. The only people I can think who have filled up their Friends List are online celebrities and anyone who goes around forums adding strangers' tags and ID's. EDIT: I swear it was 1,000. I guess that's the Xbox One Friends List though, but I swear when people were adding Kevin Butler and other e-personalities, it was said only the first "thousand" got accepted when it happened. TheMightyEthan
I don't add anyone who I don't know who it is, and periodically I remove anyone who I don't know who it is. If I've forgotten who you are I don't figure you probably need to be on my friends list.

Keep in mind the current limit for both is 100 (and that's after original XBL got shut down with implied promise of an expansion) I'm saying that currently the list caps at 100, and since there is one PSN, it stands to reason that PS3 users will have 2k-long friends lists as well. I was under the assumption that PSN friend list size was limited to 100 to keep from taking all day to load up and manage on the PS3, so I'm curious as to how everything will handle the new system when the change does take place. *edit* On the topic of filling the list, I filled mine fairly quickly. A lot of it is people I know, despite the fact that more than half never get on (I don't have the heart to kick them off my list), I keep them there. The rest are people I hooked up with for the purpose of trophy chasing and stuff. I kept on some active accounts, as I like having some other gamers on the list to compare current games and trophies with and such. But yeah, I don't think I'll ever approach the 1k mark before I started dropping the ax all over the place, no matter how much I like to have a list of conscious gamers around.
