Waldorf and Statler
I'll only play games online with my friends irl, and all of you sexy beasts.
CorgiShinobi
Here I'm thinking, "The hell? Isn't the PS3 1,000?" Nope, that's the Xbox One. My reasoning above, but I'm with everyone. I don't think I could even fill up my list to 100 now or with the PS4. I've actually kept my Facebook around 150 people, though I should clean house again. I'll only delete someone if they themselves haven't been active, i.e. "Last Login 11 Months."
Mister Jack
Maybe this is a dumb question but does the ps4 use the same power cable as the ps3?
Mercurial
No. It's more like the PS2 one.
Mister Jack
So much for switching consoles on the fly. I don't want to get rid of my ps3 yet but I don't have a lot of space in the tv cabinet anymore. I guess I'll have to do some finagling to make room when it comes out. Or stand the PS4 up vertically but I was always paranoid about doing that for any console that wasn't the wii.
deanb
Depends which PS3 (or PS2)
CorgiShinobi
Basically if your PS3 isn't the original design, it looks like you have the same cable.
Mister Jack
I used to have the fat but I had to switch to the slim when it died, so I'm hoping this mean I can theoretically go back and forth between PS3 and PS4 when I want to without having to go behind the tv every time to swap out the cables. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, it's the same as the slim, which is the same as the PS2 and PSP and Vita and every other Sony product I've ever owned, which is actually really convenient.
deanb
See I liked that with the fat PS3 my console, PC, TV, monitor and fair few other bits n bobs all used the exact same cables. Funnily we call em kettle plugs over here but I've not seen a kettle that uses them for an age. Edit: my PSP is a 1000 model so could have changed since but it's a circle plug. Closest to the PS2 slim if anything.

The Vita power brick uses the same with a proprietary USB connector the other side.
deanb
Mine plugs into a USB wall charger. But likely from it being second hand.

Mister Jack
Is this a channel package or are they letting you pick and choose which channels you want? If it's the latter then I am very much in favor.
Thursday Next
It's nothing yet, just a content deal signed between Viacom and Sony.
TCP
Another streaming service.. great, just what we all needed.
TheMightyEthan
Competition is a good thing. Though I wish we could get away from exclusive deals.
TCP
Maybe, but these services tend to suck in places outside the USA or not even exist. See Netflix (sucks) and Hulu Plus + Amazon Instant Video (USA only).
TheMightyEthan
Well maybe if you didn't live in some crappy, third world country where they don't even have Cherry Coke then you wouldn't have that issue.
TCP
Gamescom conference starting now! Let's do this Sony. October release date, please!!
TCP
November 15! Not October like some of the rumours suggested but still, exciting to finally have a date to look forward to.

TheFlyingGerbil
Sony making a VR headset for PS4? Hopefully if it was for the PS4 it wouldn't be as dear as their home entertainment version and would also work as a standard 3d headset.
