FredEffinChopin
Awesome, I'll prob get those out tomorrow. Yeah, a great deal of my PSN friends are just some random invites from some gg's that we must have had at some point, or people I teamed up with for a trophy or something. the ones I kept most likely had some nice trophy counts, as I like checking up on stuff like that with active gamers. A decent number of irl friends (a few of whom haven't even logged in in an obnoxiously long time) too, as well as some people I'd call acquaintances. I'm not nearly as popular as my friends list would lead one to believe though.
TheMightyEthan
PS3 can still only display 100 IIRC, and they have some algorithm that's supposed to intelligently decide which 100 to display.
staySICK
I went stalkerish and sent out a few friend requests. If I missed anyone, my tag is quite obvious and right about there <------ oomph. I used the $10 voucher and got Killzone from the PSN store. I did get a godawful noise from my disc drive when I put in my AC4 game...wasn't as scary as the Xbox's NOMNOMNOM but I may end up calling Sony about it. Resogun is fun, once I think I've started to get the hang of it. Edited November 26, 2013 by staySICK
Waldorf and Statler
welcome to the family. I think I had already sent you a friend request.
staySICK
This is the sound my disc drive makes. It's only during feed and eject. Otherwise it works, reads the disc and is super quiet during read. https://vine.co/v/hUTtiuFQtWh I should probably go ahead and contact Sony about it. sigh. TCP
We should all get matching PS4 tattoos like the cast of Fellowship of the Ring.

Waldorf and Statler
Yep. It sounds like the PS4 isn't satisfied by your puny disc offering and demands you stick your fingers in there

Waldorf and Statler
So after playing a bit more with my PS4 I've noticed some trends of me with the DS4: - I use the d-pad to navigate the menus. Not necessarily because the 360 had a joystick there. I can recall using the d-pad for menus in general in my 360. - I'm scared of the joysticks. They seem sturdy enough but I'm scared of getting too comfortable only to find out I have one of those DS4's with the joysticks that are coming apart. - When the touchpad was integrated in an actual gameplay fashion instead of a menu navigation tool (Trine 2) I opted for the right joystick to control the hand instead. Touchpad is not the same as touchscreen, which is why the Vita version of Dragon's Crown worked. Not knowing where the pointer will appear and having to relocate is bothersome. And having to move around and leave the touchpad held is uncomfortable. I hope more companies use it ala Killzone as I think that's its best use. Quick movements to do shit, instead of having to move it around for harder stuff.

Vecha
@WS The touchpad will be great for rpgs I'd imagine.
Waldorf and Statler
What do you mean? You mean for real time inventory/spell changing? If so yeah that'd be great.
Vecha
Yep that's what I had in mind...more inputs to compete with the keyboard.
Chronixal
It took me a good hour to sign I to PSN but my shiny new PS4 is up and running. Funnily enough grabbing and installing the update was a breeze. Managed to download the two free games too so all sorted. My one gripe is it appears us Europeans didn't get codes for PS+ with our consoles.

TheMightyEthan
Digital Foundry has an in-depth look at Remote Play. I think the write-up makes it sound worse than it is, though they do say your mileage may vary. I definitely wouldn't recommend playing a twitch shooter via Remote Play, but the Vita's sticks aren't really up to that anyway. I just spent 60 hours in AC4, probably 1/3 of which was Remote Play, and aside from some lag when my wife used the microwave I didn't really have any problems. I didn't even have problems with the combat counter system. So basically unless the game you're playing is super latency-sensitive it'll probably work fine and you won't even notice the lag. Waldorf and Statler
can't believe i'm gonna have to ask this but does PS4 seem to not have notifications of messages and/or invitations on pop-ups when you're playing? I remember getting invites for Resogun co-op from Vecha but didn't see them until I went to the hub in the notifications part. Also is there no quicker way to get to said messages/invites? Xbox Live had the option that if you had just received an invitation/message if you pressed the guide button it would take you straight to that. If Sony doesn't have this they need to add it. TheMightyEthan
You're supposed to get a popup notification. There's a setting for it somewhere in the options. As far as I know though there's no quick way to jump to the message, you just have to go to dash and navigate to it manually. I agree though that's something that they really need. Mister Jack
Mostly minor differences but the PS4 version of Call of Duty inarguably looks better.
TheMightyEthan
Interesting that on all of them where there's a noticeable difference it's the PS4 version that looks better, except for Madden where the Xbone version looks sharper.
