I don't think it has been mentioned, but PS4 will be able to play MP4 videos too. Not as good as Xbox One's though.

I don't think that means video. I think it means music in MP4 format. I could be wrong though.

The usb music player is so fucking dumb. Why does it have to be on a usb stick?

Theres only 2 usb slots on ps4 and theyre goddamn precious. Im already taking one up because my headset needs a usb stick too and the other one is for charging controllers/headsets. As things are now I cant charge more than one thing at a time.

If I want music, now I wont be able use a headset or cant charge anything. Thats lame.

Theoretically you could just upload one stream and Sony's servers could send it to the various people, right?  Like, when I'm streaming Twitch it's not like I'm uploading separate video for every viewer.

Who am I kidding, I have no viewers. :(

I was thinking that Share Play was peer to peer rather than server based. If it was server based then you would have host -> server -> guest -> server -> host latency. Which sounds horrid.

Tried out Share Play last night. Towerfall worked well, my friend was hosting and I was playing, and outside the fact that I'm not very good at that game, it went reasonably well, very little input lag. I then hosted Sound Shapes and let me friend try to do some Death Mode levels, but for something where timing is so important, it was nearly impossible. Overall it's pretty impressive though, and for most action or adventure games, it should work fine.

I don't know if anyone here has experienced this yet, but it would appear that Rest Mode (once Stand-by Mode) is acting up, or in other words bugged.

The console won't wake up from Rest Mode and is indicated by the orange light constantly pulsating. I had this happen to me last night, and while normally holding down the Power button should and has worked for others, I swear it didn't work for me. It may have been that I didn't hold down the Power button long enough, but otherwise I unplugged the console and hoped for the best as it's a scary solution to the immediate predicament.

There have been three fixes I've read from other users:

1. Change the USB settings for Rest Mode to Always instead of the default 3 Hours.

2. Eject any disc before going into Rest Mode. Truth is, this might be the main culprit as I believe this is what triggered the problem with my console. The Eject button beeped during Rest Mode, but wouldn't wake up the console and/or eject the disc.

3. I wouldn't bother with this, but there are users that claim if you go into Safe Mode (hold down Power for 7 seconds) and download 2.0 again, it's suppose to fix the issue. Thing is, I've read users saying they still experience the problem.

All in all, I think I'll just be turning off my PS4 for now until an official fix of sorts. I haven't had a problem there and I'm not really willing to risk entering the Eternal Rest Mode once more (as I would call it).

It happened to me the night of the update, played games all night, put the PS4 into rest, went to the bedroom, booted up the old PS TV and tried to do some remote playing and it couldn't find the PS4. Hopped out of bed, back to the living room, and I was greeted with a blinking orange line. Holding the power button down didn't seem to do anything so I had to pull the cord (which always makes me a little nervous). It hasn't happened since though, and I didn't adjust any settings. My USB setting was set to always already, so I don't think that solves the issue.

I can't believe Sony hasn't said anything about this or gotten a fix out there already. They've been fucking up a lot lately.
