TheMightyEthan
I have a Logitech G510, and I've never tried before. Just a sec... Yes, it works.
Eleven
Thanks! (I thought I remember you saying you had that keyboard for your HTPC).
TheMightyEthan
Oh that, I forgot it was Logitech, I'll test it too... Also works.

Shame it's sort of frosted rather than super clear.

Changing a bunch of the overlay menus for share n PS button, and also adding in library folders which'll be nice.

deanb
PS4 Slim n PS4 Pro announced http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2016/09/sonys-ps4-pro-provides-a-mid-generation-graphics-bump-to-all-ps4-games/ Seems like it's mainly for 4K TV owners really, much like super high end GPUs are a bit useless on 1080p.
TheMightyEthan
I can't believe the Pro doesn't support 4k blurays, although I'm glad because that was the only thing that might have tempted me to get one.
Mr. GOH!
That's downright bizarre. What's Sony's half-assed reason for it?
TheMightyEthan
No reason given, it just wasn't addressed.
TheFlyingGerbil
well, I'm underwhelmed. I thought I'd be chomping at the bit to get one once it was shown officially, and honestly I;m not sure If or when I'll be getting one at this point.
TheMightyEthan
Well this is pretty cool, Sony is patching all PS4's to support HDR output. And the patch goes live next week. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-09-07-every-playstation-4-to-be-made-hdr-capable-via-a-patch
TCP
This jump from the PS4 -> PS4 Pro just doesn't seem that huge. Why not wait till 2018 and release the PS5 and make it backwards compatible with the PS4. I don't know anyone who owns a 4K TV and the benefit doesn't seem that huge for those of us with standard TVs.
deanb
You still have SDTV? Anyway when PS3/360 launched the vast majority didn't have HDTV, but eventually folks did and their consoles were there to upgrade with them. I think this is less a console for folks looking to upgrade, though they will be there, and alongside the Slim another option and enticement for first time buyers. Given that the PS4 and Xbone have both moved to an X86 base and essentially off the shelf components we're likely to see a more iterative upgrading approach. In much the same way we don't have "Gaming PC 2", just annual improvements.
TCP
I'm not even on colour TV yet. My TV is actually a radio.
TheMightyEthan
Does anyone know if there's anywhere to actually download the 4k trailers? I don't have anything connected to my TV that can output YouTube in 4k. Plus it's YouTube...
CorgiShinobi
The only thing I'm tempted by is the new Platinum headset. Still, until my Gold headset falls apart, I won't be upgrading.
TheMightyEthan
Gamersyde has some of the videos uncompressed and available for download. Not the ME one though. http://gamersyde.com/index_en.html
Eleven
I'm not saying it's a bad design, but that look just made me laugh. They added another layer to it! I bet PS5 will have a whole new layer!
TheMightyEthan
I'm saying it's a bad design. It looks really, really dumb. The PS4 slim looks nice though, imo.
TheFlyingGerbil
Hmm, since I was unimpressed with the Pro, a PS4 1TB Console, LEGO Star Wars Game and Star Wars Force Awakens Blu-Ray for £150 seems tempting. What to do, what to do... I feel like I got the consoles the wrong way around - should have bought the PS4 at launch and the Scorpio when it comes out. At the moment I don't think I'll have either of the .5 upgrades.
deanb
I think at 10pm of today you're maybe a bit late on the £150 PS4 deal. Cracking deal though.
TheFlyingGerbil
Bum flaps, I didn't realise it was one day only. Sure they'll be back on at some point, there will still be stock about that retailers want to get rid of.
deanb
They might have gotten rid of it all. It was the older 500GB model iirc. But could be worth looking around at some of the smaller shops. I heard Smyths was doing the deal and they're not exactly at the front of my mind when it comes to "places to buy games consoles" so might be same for others.
