The Dream Thread

I dunno, dreams are weird [,man]. Last night I dreamt I had a fetish for girls typing on keyboards, and looking deep within myself, I don't believe I'll ever be aroused by the clicking of keyboard buttons.

Considering my recent foray in browsing keyboards online, that's where it came from. As for the girls, I'm a heterosexual male and I'm confident in my rather wild assertion that it's what we do.

Had a weird one last night/this morning.

I can't remember exactly where I was or anything (I'm assuming it was a bar because I was sat down) but I'd just split up with a girlfriend (I think it was Anna Chlumsky because I just rewatched In The Loop the other day) and then this really beautiful blonde woman sits next to me and asks who I am. For some reason, rather than answer normally, I pull my business card from my pocket and hand it to her. She takes one look and declares, "We're getting married." To which I answer, "OK..." Can't recall much directly after that except we go shopping for a bit and we seem to get along really well, even though the whole time I'm thinking, "But she's way too attractive for me..." My brain reassures me that looks aren't everything (clearly, business cards are).

Then there's a load of wedding preparations going on and I'm, like, "This has to be a great wedding!" So, naturally, I have to write a song. The rest of the dream is then me trying to find a quiet place to sit down with a guitar and write this song, except I'm in some multi-storey house and people (her relatives, I think) keep following me around. I go out to a friend's house in the country and there I'm agonising over a 7th chord and whether to play the following chord normal or arpeggio when I realise that I haven't done any of the lyrics either. So then I'm trying to find the words that encapsulate our relationship...which is obviously a very tricky task. I begin with "There once was a man..." and then my brain says, "No, this is a limerick, you idiot" and I wake up...

Had a weird one.  I had just moved into either a small townhouse or a large apartment (not sure which) and it turned out to be haunted by a ghost.  That's not so unusual for a dream, but the weird part is that it was haunted by the spirit of Kuroki Tomoko.  In case you don't know or have forgotten who that is, it's this girl:

Long story short, she killed herself because she had no friends and felt like no one noticed her.  She didn't tell me this herself but I just kind of knew somehow.  You know how dreams are.  Anyway, she wasn't what I'd call an evil or malicious spirit, but she was kind of a brat because if I didn't give her enough attention or she thought I wasn't listening to her she would start flipping furniture and knocking things off shelves until I gave her my full focus.  Not only that, but she never wanted to talk about anything interesting like what it was like to be dead or if there was a proper afterlife.  She just wanted to talk about weird otaku shit and ask me inappropriate personal questions like what it was like to have a dick.  It sucked but I went along with it the best I could because I felt sorry for her.

i had a dream my son was standing in the kitchen and either called his mother or just said with her in the room "piece of shit."

I was worried it actually happened until my wife said something about blaming me playing gta with him awake if he used that language.

I told her it would be because I'm a potty mouth as it is.

Now that is what I would call a weird dream. Good on you on protecting that smile but how does that even work? Did you see in anime form? Were you in anime form? Now where is my dream with

You know that's a good question and I wish I knew for sure.  I wanna say that it might have shifted back and forth depending on whatever would have made sense to my brain at the time, or maybe it was somewhere in between.  Dreams work in really crazy ways.

I had a dream that I went to the supermarket but forgot to take a bag with me. Which was a bit annoying as I could not collect a nectar point for that transaction and had to put another bag in the cupboard that is already pretty full of plastic bags.

The most annoying thing about having such mundane dreams is that in the afternoon I couldn't remember if I needed to go to the shops or not because I still remembered going in my dream.

AFAIK they're the only supermarket that does Nectar points. Sainsbury's is no Waitrose, but it's still no Tesco.

Ooh, Nectar cover Just Eat now. Hmm, might have to figure how you hook them up (for all my jabs I do actually have a Nectar card, but that's for when Amazon was a partner and it was useful.)

Tesco is the absolute worst supermarket. ASDA is cheap and chearful, Morrisons is cheaper than Tesco and has a lot of nice fresh stuff. Sainsburys is barely dearer than Tesco now but has better choice and quality. Tesco is just big - it's not particularly cheap or good and just seems aggressively supermarkety if that's a thing.

Kind of an odd one. Recording it here so maybe I can doodle it out later.

I got transported to an offshore island to do some stuff or live there. The thing was it was under construction or something nearby was. Just offshore were MASSIVE earthmoving machines that would dwarf anything we have now. On my island itself it seemed to be more like a NASA station than anything else.

Anyways... I happened upon a smaller earthmover that happened to make a sandy path where ever it went out in the water. I went out to said path for a mile or two before I looked back to see that the path was breaking apart due to wave action. I kept on going till this earthmover went under an apartment complex of sorts where I somehow got up to an upper floor where a few workers were taking a break from building. Most were rough looking people but one appears to be the love interest. How I know? She was a bit more detailed and had more talk time than the others. Long black hair with a hard hat and wore ladies versions of construction clothing or at least in this world.

Well not like it went anywhere. Talk time was dominated by how to get back to the island and by default off this building. Somehow the girl pulled out my parents from a lower floor who happened to visit some friends. WTF mate? And so that is how this little dream ended.

This was kind of a harrowing one.  I just dreamed that I was threatened by Barack Obama.  I stumbled across a government secret that they definitely didn't want getting out, so he came over and talked to me, and he was acting as friendly as he usually does, but there was this sinister undertone in the things he said like "Try to understand that it is vital we keep this a secret, no matter what the cost."  I got bad vibes from him so I invested in a wire and started wearing it everywhere, then started acting to people I knew in public like I had to get a load off my chest.  This spooked them, like I expected, so Obama came over again to give me a sterner, less friendly warning, unaware that I was wearing a wire 24/7.  After he left I went out and bought a shitload of cheap USB drives (with cash of course), then went home and copied the recorded conversation onto each drive.  I put each drive into a fedex envelope, and then put a handwritten letter into each one instructing the recipient to anonymously leak the USB stick's contents to the press if I was ever reported missing or if they just plain didn't hear from me for more than thirty days.  After that I sent out the envelopes to as many people as I could think of, especially people who nobody else in my life knew about besides me.  I made sure to send them all from different locations, thus making them less suspicious and harder to track.

I woke up before I could find out if this gambit paid off or not.

Had a dream last night in like a hotel but was sort of semi-groundhog day shenanigans (the day resetting) but like end of the night something blows up. Some kind of cursed guest to do with a dodgy date or something(you know how it is with dreams). Additionally the majority of staff (or at least heads of departments) were like..I'm gonna say "old ones" but not like tentacle faces but clearly sort of fae/demi-god/whateverness. They seemed sort of pissed with the state of affairs (the day reset thing), but otherwise malevolently fulfilled the duties of a hotel. Also Chris Evans (or a character played by him) carried on turning up towards the end of the night, so he was involved in someway.

I feel if I took the effort I could maybe thrash this out into some kind of story concept. I mean I've got Chris Evans on board already, that opens loads of producers doors.

Also the usual run of "oh shit I've missed work" stress/anxiety induced stuff because the global situation is fun! I think last nights was different because I'm on what is 7 days off.

Whenever I have to wake up to go to the bathroom, my brain decides the best way to get me up is to scare the crap out of me.

Last night I was woken up by this weird dream/nightmare, where Steam was having this Halloween event that made it so that regardless of what game you were playing, there was a chance for it to suddenly turn into a horror game. OK, whatever, I start playing something, don't know what it was, just that, as soon as it launches, I'm in this courtyard, with a large fountain in the centre and dilapidated buildings around. The whole place is dimly lit, though I could see no source of light. Directly opposite of me there was this... Shadow, not humanoid and not a monster, just a weird shadow blob just there. For some reason that was enough, I immediately felt this sense of dread and fear, not like a jumpscare just outright cold sweat and shivers kind of fear the kind that makes it hard to even breathe, it was super unpleasant, the only thing I could compare it to was during the September earthquake or that time I almost got run over by a car, even then, this felt worse. So I did what I do best, close the game and walk away. :P

That's when I woke up and went "alright, I get it!" got up, went to the bathroom and then took a while to get back to sleep because that unpleasant feeling still lingered.

On the bright side, it gave me a cool idea for a short story (that I'm sure has already been done to death :P).
