Who's getting Anniversary

  1. 1. Are you getting Halo: Anniversary at or near launch?

Topic title says it all. I'd like to try to get a feel for how many people we'll have available for campaign coop as well as the competitive multi.

Oh, and apparently there's been some confusion about this, but Anniversary only supports 2-player coop just like Halo did when it first launched, though it does work over Live now. Gametrailers even said something about coop of any kind being an added feature that didn't exist in the original version.

Anyway, who's getting it at launch or reasonably soon thereafter?

*Edit* - Launch is November 15.

For me it would almost be worth it even if the only change they'd made was adding 16x9 support. I freaking hate playing games with the picture stretched, but if I don't stretch it the black bars on the side make me feel like I have blinders on.

Has anyone tried Live coop? How did it work?

My friend and I tried it last night, and he said it was laggy as hell (I was the host), but we're not sure whether that's because the coop wasn't designed with the internet in mind or because my wife was streaming Netflix at the time.

OHMYGOD

ITS GLORIOUS

I have issues with the art style not feeling quite right (the skyboxes are really busy and it doesn't feel as clean as Bungie's art style on Halo games this gen), but my god is it an amazing game. I also remember that The Library does not suck (and think everyone who hates it is now crazy!)--Keyes does. The game also manages to feel a little less repetitive in Assault on the Control Room, while the repetition felt in 343 Guilty Spark actually enhances the almost exhaustive feel of combating the Flood. Unfortunately for them, with a shotgun and some carrier forms, they're a joy to fight.

Anniversary reminds me why Halo: Combat Evolved just might be the greatest first person shooter to have ever been made. Its enemies are fun to fight and despite arena repetition, the combat itself always plays out differently.

TME, I'll co-op with you to check it out, but I can't do voice.

Yeah, I've never understood what people have against the Library. And I agree that the visuals are too busy, but overall they did a surprisingly good job of staying true to the style considering it's an entirely different group of people working on it.
